Do you have the schematic already ? Consider to post your same details in the laptop forum for feedback from techs.

Is the battery a known good battery ? Try another battery if possible.

Is the battery detected by the Windows operating system?

Start with a voltage measurement of each pin on the charger IC @ PU9 (BQ24737RGRR).

Also post each voltage on the battery connector so we can confirm if the SMBUS / I2C interface is working.
