Hello, I'm having trouble booting my T480s after a BIOS flash. I'm using a Pi Pico 2040 (serprog) with flashprog.
I dumped the stock BIOS three times, the checksum was the same. I added the usual patches, and how the laptop won't turn on: attempting to power on for a second (display powers up, keyboard lights up), power LED blinking three times, fan spins every few seconds.
Reflashing the stock firmware didn't help. I tried reflashing after using me_cleaner on the stock image, still nothing. Tried some BIOS images from around this forum, nothing. I even tried Coreboot, nothing.
The diodes and SMD components close to the BIOS chip seem to be okay, I checked with a multimeter.
The model code is S0L8-S6RF00, serial number PC-12ZR7C, i5-8350U
I'm attaching the stock BIOS and the modded one, thank you.Attached FilesLast edited by xugopef@mailapps.online; 10-09-2025, 05:44 PM.Comment

Sadly nothing changed with any of the two files, thank you anyway...
At this point I'm considering a hardware issue too. Are you aware of any hardware debug interfaces (JTAG, UART, etc) I can use to get an idea?Comment
-
Update: it's indeed a hardware issue, the clip knocked off the two 33 ohm resistors on the bottom!
I got it to boot with some bodge wires, not ideal but better than dead. I might get a new motherboard later since I ripped some pads and I don't trust the wire, and recycle this one as a server (I wanted one for Home Assistant Voice anyway).
Thanks a lot for all the help!Comment

Summary of BIOS Whitelist Removal Problem
Problem:
I am attempting to remove the WWAN card whitelist from my Lenovo ThinkPad T560.
Initial Findings:- My current BIOS version is N1KET58W (1.45).
- I have a CH341A programmer and have successfully created two full backups of my BIOS.
- I have the ability to use command-line tools on a Linux machine.
- I attempted to use several automated and manual patching methods on my N1KET58W (1.45) BIOS, including using hex strings. These attempts all failed.
- I concluded that the

by AquaMan UaHello. I am asking you for a hint on how to solve the problem with my touchbook Panasonic CF53-2 standart model. After setting up the BIOS, the laptop displays the wrong image until Windows loads. (More precisely, it displays, but distorted, instead of the Panasonic image immediately after turning it on, it displays what is in photo #1 in the attached file) Then the image appears when Windows starts loading and then there are no problems with the screen until the reboot. If you enter the BIOS, just a black screen. If you connect an external screen, the image on it is the same as on the built-in...2 Photos

by traxformaniaHello,
I'm using TONGFANG "GM7TG7P" model laptop for over 3 years and i'm entering the same bios administrator password everyday. My laptop has Aptio BIOS (American Megatrends, AMI).
But today it's not accepting my password. I'm %100 sure i'm entering the correct password.
I'm trying to reset my bios without success.
I tried :
-I removed the BIOS battery and main battery. Waited for a long time but it didn't work. They already stated in the user manual that the password will not be reset even if the batteries... -
by macabookHello everyone,
Iโm currently working on a dead MSI GP75 Leopard (MS-17E71) motherboard (i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU) with a no display/no backlight issue initially. After extensive investigation, Iโm at a critical stage involving EC firmware, BIOS/ME region interaction, and possible deep corruption. I'm seeking advanced insight from anyone with experience in EC/BIOS sync issues or PCH-level behavior. Hereโs a full breakdown:
๐งฉ Initial Issue- Board powers on (fans spin, keyboard lights up and can be adjusted, caps lock led lights), but no display or backlight
- External display (HDMI) shows

I am having some problems with the BIOS of my Versapro PC-VRT42FBFR22B.
I extracted the BIOS file (versapro001.bin 16MB) from PC-VRT42FBFR22B ROM (MX77L12850F) using CH341A and NeoProgrammer V2.2.0.10, but I don't know how to remove the BIOS password, so I can't open the BIOS even if I boot with F2.
I also downloaded the BIOS update package (933A0400.zip) for PC-VRT42FBFR22B from the official...-
