do not use the clip, you may have errors..if you do not have anything to unsolder it with,
solder wires between the programmer and the bios chip..
here is a video for example..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWWi...nnel=ThisIsHow
Thanks for sharing Peste. I did manage to program it successfully in situ with the clip. The battery was disconnected of course. Agreed, though that it might not be best practice

Try, BIOS extracted from Lenovo website, DMI and Win key inserted

                Flex 5-15ALC05 Laptop (ideapad) - Type 82HV
                S/N PW015HX3
                MTM 82HV004HFR
                BIOS ver GJCN34WW
                DMI 5EA000-5EA3FF
                Win key 617000-6170CF

Select correct 16MB chip (128) or equivalent in your programmer software, your backup is only 8MB
Example: W25Q128FW or W25Q128JW if your BIOS chip is W74M12JW

ok i think i find the bios here
                    https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...hlight=15ALC05

so i need to copy the DMI & Win key and peraps cut the bios to 16MB ? and it's should work ?
My OEM key inside my BIOS dump contain "just for test". I suspect that the Lenovo utility copied everything without performing any personalization.

Sorry I forgot to attach the BIOS to my previous post, here it is in case you still need it
The clean BIOS has this string at 617000
                        Code:
                        F l a s h C o m m a n d
                        just for test
                        /ioset 0xCF9 0xE /p /cvar /bbl /sd /sn /cac /cbp 30 /bcp /silent
If you copied it correctly from my instructions it should look like this
                        Code:
                        O e m A c t i v a t i o n V a r
                        just for test
                        01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 1D 00 00 00
                        (your windows key)

If you already used the BIOS from post 2 or 11 as a base and copied the offsets correctly, congratulations

                          Hey Guys,
I’ve had 2 of the 5-14ALC05 laptops die within 2 months of each other — both bought at the same time as well.
The first attempt to fix it was to buy an Alibaba spec board replacement, but it only lasted 1 month.
I’ve now dumped all 3 BIOS files, grabbed the latest BIOS from the Lenovo website, trimmed it to fit, and swapped over the DMI and Windows key.
All the boards did a few cycles at the start, then booted. Everything seems to be alright except the power button indicator light just keeps flashing.

                              Hello everyone !

My name is Chris, I am a 30 years old embedded software developer working in the automotive industry. I am really passionate about learning new skills and repairing/crafting stuff. I came around this forum last week with the goal of repairing my faulty gaming laptop, indeed, I was video editing on it when suddenly a black screen popped and never disappeared I bought some stuff to try to repair it and learn as many things as possible about computer repairs but nothing worked so far. When the black screen appeared, my legion 5 pro was connected to my external monitor...

I have a Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15ALC05 NM-D701. When I press the power button, the fan comes on, the power button flashes but the screen remains black. The device has a current consumption of 0.7A. I only have a BoardWiever for the device and no schematic. I have already tried to rewrite the BIOS, but the behavior is the same.
I have checked all voltages and everything fits:

YouTube video of the problem encountered: https://youtube.com/shorts/q7TLNv36LUo

I am a pro and I have a problem that I have never seen despite my 7.5 years of experience on my own and my thousands of repairs, on a customer's Dell G3 15 3500.

On this PC I have already changed the complete palmrest because the keyboard was no longer working properly.

I also changed the screen because the PC fell and the screen was broken.

I changed the battery with a new and original battery.

I also had corrosion/oxidation on the...
