                    Hello BIOS gurus,

I have DELL Latitude 5330 (S/T:12CYXL3, motherboard model: Southpeak 4DJ9K$LA 203101-1)) and would like to unlock the BIOS admin and remove any trackers e.g. Absolute or CompuTrace.

I have taken the backup of W25Q256JV chip using CH341A programmer. Please see attached the bin file. Could someone help unlocking this attached file.

                    Thanks,

PS: I am hoping that this is the chip that contains the BIOS? because there is another chip W25R128JV that sits close to this chip but I am not sure if that needs to be re-flashed?

Thank you friend for your prompt response. I flashed that file but unfortunately the laptop doesn't start, when I press the power button, the white Power light comes on the button for 30 seconds and goes off. There is no display, no fan, no keyboard light, nothing happening on the laptop. I did the following:

                        (1) Prior to flashing the file, I removed the battery and CMOS battery connections both.
                        (2) Flashed the file and verified that the file was correctly verified.
                        (3) Connected the CMOS battery, and pressed the power button for about 30 seconds prior to connecting the laptop battery.
                        (4) Pressed the Power button after connecting the laptop battery.
                        (5) White light on power button comes on for about 30 seconds and goes off.

Any ideas? Are there any chances that the file that I read originally might be corrupted and therefore the unlocked file is also corrupted? Or the unlocked file is just a generic one?

check soldering. Put back original bios and see if it starts, if not, you didn't read properly bios chipset.

Ok I will try flashing the original BIOS file and see if that works. In case it doesn't, do we have a generic BIOS file for this model?

I didn't desolder the chip, I used WSON8 pogo pin probe to read and write it.

                              Thanks.

I flashed the original backup file and the laptop doesn't start, so I am convinced that my backup file was corrupted. Can anyone help with repairing the file? Or is there a universal BIOS bin file that I can flash? What options do I have, if any

                                  Hello everyone.

I have come here with a rather specific question. I was given a Dell Latitude 7420 laptop with a busted screen, and wanted to see if I could refurbish it into my daily driver. I wanted to experiment and see if a 2-in-1 display would work as the chassis of the laptop and 2-in-1 7420 looked identical. I threw in the display and my hypothesis was correct, however, I was greeted with a locked BIOS and since I didn't know the password, I figured I'd try to unlock it somehow. I bought one of those POGO pin probe things for my CH341A programmer so I could read and make...

                                  by jhanra
Hi there masters, recently i got a dell 5400 chromebook and wanted to install windows, i searched the internet and i found out other people also wanting a UEFI bios for this model, i searched there is a R/W legacy, but there are bugs like keyboard/trackpad not working, and hard to install.

so i decided to try to port one, this bios is based on dell 5400 windows version, i am testing this bios for a week now an found only a little to no bug at all in windows 10, or only a minor issue
in windows 11 sound driver compatibility, but overall its ok, for me i can deal with it, 😅😅😅...

                                  Hi

i have dell latitude E7270 with following symptoms:
                                  - takes long time to restart.
                                  - sometimes powers on and then off
                                  - sometimes while working it just dies,

From googling online bios clean could possible resolve this?

i was able to save bios and was going to try bios clean myself but get an below error when i drop it in ME analyzer.(unsure whether this sometimes occurs or could be due to bad/corrupt bios)

As ME analyzer gave me an error i just decided to write bios with a cleaned bios from E7270 bios post.

                                  Hi sirs. please help
Dell Inspiron 5775 bios locked "Unlock Setup fail"

After generating the Password Recovery code, I go to the “Security” tab - “Locked Settings” - it says “Unlock Settings? I tried many wrong passwords and it shows an error to unlock settings [ Press any key ].
                                  What I did:
                                  I read the bios dump.
Downloaded the bios update to 1.6.0 from the official Dell website, extracted the dump from it, updated the bios, but the problem persisted. Please help me to solve the problem....
