Hello All,
I'm pretty much a newbie at doing this but would like to learn the steps needed to edit the BIOS from a system board.
I need help to remove the admin password from the BIOS on my Dell Latitude 5420. In researching this site, it appears I need to first get the bios file. The original SSD is missing from the laptop but I have replaced it with a new one so no OS to work from.
Motherboard info:

In searching through this forum, I believe I have identified the BIOS chip on the board. I found it located above DIMM Slot B, next to the processor (label on the system board is UC2 JUC2). The info on the chip is:
XMC
25RH256CXIQ
PPE46700 01
2121U
THe BIOS is an 8FC8.
I don't have a programmer to read the chip so I will need to get one. My first question, does anyone have any recommendations as to the best programmer as well as software package to pull the code off the bios chip?
Again, trying to learn the steps to do this, I have a few questions:
When pulling the BIN from the BIOS, the system board is disconnected from all power?
I can upload the BIN file to a thread on this forum and ask a kind soul to help remove the PW but I'm willing to give it a shot if someone could point me to how to do that.
I'm attaching some photos of the board and what I believe is the bios chip locatation as reference.
Any guidance to help me through this would be greatly appreciated.

Dell latitude 5580, motherboard cdp 80 la-e151p
3 amber 3 white blinks. Dell website sais it's problem "bios recovery" and suggested solution "recovery image not found"
(from here https://www.dell.com/support/manuals...e7a&lang=en-us)
I try plugging charger while pressing ctrl+esc, machine turns on, nothing and after 20 seconds it gives 3 amber 3 white blinks again.

Hi there masters, recently i got a dell 5400 chromebook and wanted to install windows, i searched the internet and i found out other people also wanting a UEFI bios for this model, i searched there is a R/W legacy, but there are bugs like keyboard/trackpad not working, and hard to install.
so i decided to try to port one, this bios is based on dell 5400 windows version, i am testing this bios for a week now an found only a little to no bug at all in windows 10, or only a minor issue
in windows 11 sound driver compatibility, but overall its ok, for me i can deal with it, 😅😅😅... -
