IdeaPad Flex 5 14ALC05 Black Screen

    Hello!

I'm trying to fix a roommate's friend's Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 14ALC05 that got bricked through Lenovo Vantage. The screen simply stays black and the Esc and Capslock LEDs are lighting up.

    BIOS Chip: Winbond 74M12JWSIQ
    S/N: PW003TC3
    MTM: 82HU00JWUS
    MO: PWN0B1B0900A
    Factory ID: CQ
    Type 82HU

I dumped the bios with my CH341A and NeoProgrammer.

Might someone be able to help me with this?

    Thanks and regards!

      BIOS Chip: Winbond 74M12JWSIQ

      Board FRU/PN: 5B21B84990
      Boardcode: 455.0MD02.0001 1A
      Type 82HU

I dumped the bios with my CH341A and NeoProgrammer.

I tried writing a bios file I found on here and probably fried the chip since I only removed the laptop battery but not the CMOS battery when writing. The BIOS chip is no longer being recognized by NeoProgrammer using the CH341A through the 1.8V adapter, I just purchased a new bios chip here.

The laptop still has a black screen when turne on and the Esc and Capslock LEDs are still lighting up.

Might someone be able to help me with this?

      Thanks and regards!

It`s corrupt. Are you using a clip, are you using a 1.8V adapter

I'm using both! Should I pull out the heat gun and do some surgery to remove the BIOS chip?

What sort of heat gun do you have, if it`s a proper temperature controlled hot air station then sure. If it`s one of those paint stripper 1000°F ones you will likely cause damage to the chip and board.

I was planning on ordering a proper heat gun for de-soldering, do you know good heat guns to purchase?

I don`t know what to recommend, depends on your budget. Try this bios, it has your DMI included from post 203. I don`t know which post shiyab replied to but the serial number is different, and he did not add any DMI to the bios. Try again with the clip. keep it steady

It did not work and I'm getting the same probably corrupted bios dump from the chip. I ordered a new chip and I'll try to replace it and dump the bios you provided. Thank you for the dump!

Hi. First thank you one more time for yesterday. I am sorry that I am writing here I couldnt find the right post. I told my friend today how you helped me with the BIOS and he sad that he also has a laptop with same symptoms like my had. He has Yoga 9 14IAP7 and I found 4 BIOS chips 3 from winbond and one giga device. I only managed to extract bios data from gigadevice chip. I tried guides that you sent me here yesterday but I guess I am not that good yet 😔 Can you please help me with this file as well. Thanks in advance.
