Lenovo L490 Supervisor Password reset via rt809h

    Hello fellow caps

I want to remove the Supervisor password on a Lenovo L490 laptop.
    SIO is ITE8227
I understand that I need a jtag tool like RT809H to be able to talk to the chip and read/erase/write.
    My question is:
Is the RT809H compatible with reading ITE8227 chips? I cant seem to find info on that before ordering the RT809H.

Have you tried with autopatcher? I can unlock L390 with this tool so i think also work with L490.
In case you wanna read and remove password from EC, you can buy VERTYANOV_JIG

Also interested as I have an L490 with password here, i5 8th gen, 20Q6-S06000. 32MB BIOS.

RT809H seems cheaper and more available than Vertyanov.

I tried autopatcher but the laptop wouldn't boot with the patched file.

BIOS dump attached if it is of interest to anyone.

L15 Gen 4 Supervisor PW reset
              by Robin Dieker
              Hi

I have a problem I want to reinstall win11 on my laptop but I set a supervisor password which I forgot so I couldnt get into the boot menu. I then tried to enter my "standard" Passwords but now it just tells me that i am locked out and a superuser password is required and that I should press F1 to enter setup. Unfortunately I havent registered my Fingerprint with it.

Any way to reset the supervisor password without contacting lenovo? I have seen some kind of usb device however I think I would need access to the BIOS to flash it, right?

              Thanks...

              Hey guys,

have a laptop here that has a supervisor Password (dump in Attachements).
Before i write the Serial NR.etc i wanted to say that strangely after flashing with 3 different Bios dumps and one from lenovos site
the laptop works but everytime it wants me to type a supervisor password i never set.
I thought the supervisor password is stuck in the ec bios but no it isn't either because after replacing the ec chip from one of another board it still has the supervisor password.
Anyway i wanted to ask what of the two chips is the ec bios because on the left...

Sony OLED XR-77A80J - 5 Flashes But Turn On After Hard Reset
              by odie34
I am a hobbyist (not a professional) so please be gentle...

I recently received an XR-77A80J that wouldn't turn on. (Repeating 5 flashes when plugged in.)

I did a hard reset by holding the power button for about 30 seconds until the set powered down. I then tried to turn it on and it powered up, bringing me to the setup screen. There's not a lot of detail on the setup screen but the picture didn't have any distortions, so at least a cursory examination suggests no physical damage to the screen. The set appeared to be working normally, but it shut down after about 15 seconds,...

Philips MDP 3380/12 Blu-ray Player – No Power, Reset Signal Always High
              by ictc
I'm troubleshooting a Philips MDP 3380/12 Blu-ray player that shows no signs of life. The display remains off, and no buttons respond.

Inside, the power supply is working correctly, and all expected voltages on the mainboard match the service manual specifications. The CPU warms up slightly (checked with a thermal camera), the crystal oscillator is functioning, but the reset signal remains high at all times.

The reset circuit appears to consist of two NPN transistors, one driven by 5V VCC and the other by 3.3V STBY, as shown in the attached schematic. Should the reset...

ASUS M5A78L-M LX - PWR button works sometimes, CPU stuck in reset
              by kotel studios
              Hi,
Firstly I'd like to apologize if this was posted in the wrong forum (I'm new here )
Recently I got an ASUS M5A78L-M LX board in a scrap lot. Saw one broken cap which I've replaced. No broken traces and missing components. While soldering a new cap a bit of solder got onto components bellow SB (opposite of the two lythic caps). Didn't see it and powered the board on.
I was greeted with it not starting. Came back to it a day later and shorted the PS_ON with GND to force it on. It sprung to life but with CPU stuck in reset (it was an FX 4600 I believe). Thats when I saw the...
