Tried again as we speak, set the * to Unlock and erase it from Lock, set it back with the command and restart the laptop, still locked.

I don't see any number like this on motherboard, i see a 6070B0676404 on the chassis but since the motherboard is G1 and the chassis G2 (seems like the customer has built a Frankestein machine here) this number is not relevant to motherboard.

                              Hi,

I have an ASROCK Z270 GAMING-ITX/AC motherboard with a fried VCORE controller IR35201 (International Rectifier, currently Infineon).

This chip is unfortunately programmable, so after replacing the chip, it needs to be programmed with a config file, which I do not have, as the chips is not readable any more (total short on power supply pin).

Some of you maybe know, it is possible to read out the config file from a board with a working chip using the USB005 I2C adapter and IR/Infineon software called PowIRCenter. The software is available freely at Infinion...

                              Hi all,
Unfortunately I cannot/don't know how to edit my last query, so I'll create another one instead.

So I've received this laptop to try and fix it. There were 2 blown components - small inductor and cap, both on Vin (main power rail) on the IN pins of the 0.75V chip (SY8388RHC). I've replaced that chip and the nearby 0.75V_DEEP_SUS (same type), and of course both of blown components. There was still a short on 3V coil, which went away when I replaced PI3DPX1207C chip next to usb-c port (as it was overheating). Luckily I have older non-working 455 G7 for the spare parts....

Dell Latitude 7420 BIOS Unlock Gone Wrong

                              Hello everyone.

I have come here with a rather specific question. I was given a Dell Latitude 7420 laptop with a busted screen, and wanted to see if I could refurbish it into my daily driver. I wanted to experiment and see if a 2-in-1 display would work as the chassis of the laptop and 2-in-1 7420 looked identical. I threw in the display and my hypothesis was correct, however, I was greeted with a locked BIOS and since I didn't know the password, I figured I'd try to unlock it somehow. I bought one of those POGO pin probe things for my CH341A programmer so I could read and make...
