Hello, I would need some help with this bios. I have two machines with problems; will start with the first one. I will attach the original bios that I read, it has problems with blinking lights, sadly forgot how many but looked like bios issue so I tried to flash from post #17 here, and when I turn it on I get 7 blinks from caps lock, when I plug in the usb c charger the white charger led is on and then once I get a 6 blinks of orange. For the previous person with 7 blinks you said to check hardware; what should I check? I have plugged everything in except battery, ssd and wifi card; the laptop should work without those?

Yes, those I had plugged in, but sadly I am getting the 7 blinks. I wanted to try the other bios files here but accidentally knocked one of the small black things (i think resistor) to the side and when I tried to place it back I accidentally lost it and cannot find it; does anyone has a boardview/schematic where I can find the value of it of it is possible to bridge it, or maybe take one from somewhere else on the board? It looked like there was similar ones at the debug pins.Comment

Yes, attached pictures of what I accidentally lost; and how it should look based on the other same laptop I have.
How it should look:
Similar ones at debug port?
Got schematic from here:
https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...itebook-840-g6
The board number matches even tho they say elitebook 840, hp reusing same board with different cpu etc?
Anyway it looks to be R369 in the boardview, but I havnt found it in the schematic pdf yet.
Thank for all the help once again!
edit: found it:
edit2: also found the debug ones; R4866 however they are 50k, the one I removed looked to be 100k

by macabookHello everyone,
I’m currently working on a dead MSI GP75 Leopard (MS-17E71) motherboard (i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU) with a no display/no backlight issue initially. After extensive investigation, I’m at a critical stage involving EC firmware, BIOS/ME region interaction, and possible deep corruption. I'm seeking advanced insight from anyone with experience in EC/BIOS sync issues or PCH-level behavior. Here’s a full breakdown:
🧩 Initial Issue- Board powers on (fans spin, keyboard lights up and can be adjusted, caps lock led lights), but no display or backlight
- External display (HDMI) shows

by jbonavitaHi, my laptop wont boot at all
With original bios no POST, only LED lights
With alternative BIOS from model TP500LN (flashed via programmer) the notebook works again
Some issues
A- with bios from 500LN, it won't update from bios of model 500LA (from 500LN v203 to 500LA v300)
B- If updated from 500LN version 203 to 300, the battery stops being recognized
Things I tried
1- Update / clear ME: Took the non working bios, made a backup, and did this: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...theory/trouble...-

by zeniusHello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.
Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...-

by WahazHello,
I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
So I thought it was a Bios problem.
I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....-
