Hi All, I am working on this Hp 15-cc523ca MB DAG71MB16D0 Rev D. The problem was that it was dead & the 5V IC SY8288CRAC was burnt & shorted the 19v rail. I replaced it, now no short at all & the 19v rail is fine on all points, but still it does not turn on. I get 3.3v on the power ON/OFF button connector & now assuming it might be a corrupted BIOS. Can anybody re-build this original BIOS. Thanks in advance

Download your bios https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp134...0/sp134416.exe .Just follow the same steps in that post ,the only difference is the end offset
220000 - 22803F (Length 8040)
You can flash the virgin bios but you will lose all DMI info. You can copy the DMI easily with a hex editor and insert it into the virgin bios in less than a minute. The alternative is to use HP DMI tools.Last edited by SMDFlea; 02-13-2022, 07:21 AM. -

You can do any HP Insyde bios the same way (usually) you just have to find the offsets as they can be in different places. The win key offsets can be added seperately it doesn`t have to be,and isn`t always in one big blockComment

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by iulik17dHello everyone!
The Asrock A380 low profile card (ID 8086 56A5 - 1849 6006) have an power limit of 45W. Intel removed the possibility to increase power using the software utility, anyway the card is in an proxmox machine that doesn't run windows.
The same hardware is in another form by the name Asrock A380 Challenger that have the same VRMs and the power limit is at 60W. I searched online and found on another website an .bin bios file from the Challenger variant, that I flashed using an CH341a. Flashng worked well, I put the card in PC and booted. GPUz shows that new device ID is 8086...-

Hello everyone,
I'm trying to repair my old Acer Nitro 5 (AN517-54-55T5). I've already bought a new laptop, so this is more of a learning project. For the experience, with no high expectations of success.
Well, my decice specs are the following:
Model: Acer Nitro 5 AN517-54-55T5
CPU: Intel Core i5-11400H
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650
Motherboard: GH51G LA-L181P Rev:1c
The symptom:
When pressing the power button, the power LED lights up for about 5 seconds and then turns off. Initially, the issue was intermittent: sometimes...05-26-2025, 10:49 AM -
by PantherDaveHi all!
I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅
I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.
