Hi,
My bios is locked and corrupted now (when I flash it back doesn't work-dead- ).
When I use a clean ME bios from this forum the laptop works fine (entering bios , writing service tag, …. ) but when I quit manufacturing mode (alt +f) the laptop turns off –dead-
Same behavior when I tried 2 other cleaned dumps .
any help please………….thanks

Sorry for the total newbie question as I'm not very converse with bios's. Do I have to remove the bios chip to unlock the bios password a Dell 3520 8FC8 or can it be done with software ? ThanksComment

Dell latitude 5580, motherboard cdp 80 la-e151p
3 amber 3 white blinks. Dell website sais it's problem "bios recovery" and suggested solution "recovery image not found"
(from here https://www.dell.com/support/manuals...e7a&lang=en-us)
I try plugging charger while pressing ctrl+esc, machine turns on, nothing and after 20 seconds it gives 3 amber 3 white blinks again.

I have come here with a rather specific question. I was given a Dell Latitude 7420 laptop with a busted screen, and wanted to see if I could refurbish it into my daily driver. I wanted to experiment and see if a 2-in-1 display would work as the chassis of the laptop and 2-in-1 7420 looked identical. I threw in the display and my hypothesis was correct, however, I was greeted with a locked BIOS and since I didn't know the password, I figured I'd try to unlock it somehow.
