Re: lenovo miix 520-12IKB
@wfasyvsafv
This is the same password previously decoded, so I guess the last character is the checksum.
password = HEAVEN1M -> HEAVEN1

H - HOTEL ( UPPERCASE )
E - ECHO ( UPPERCASE )
A - ALFA ( UPPERCASE )
V - VICTOR ( UPPERCASE )
E - ECHO ( UPPERCASE )

Re: lenovo miix 520-12IKB
Hi pal,
Just a little confused as to how to read this. So for example, the first 00 is 05 then 01 then 0B...you said number 30 would be for example the letter B but I'm not sure if I'm reading it right or not.
Can you explain a bit how to read/decode this? I've attached a screenshot.
Thank you,Comment

Re: lenovo miix 520-12IKB
This helped in decoding/translating, thank you:
https://www.win.tue.nl/~aeb/linux/kbd/scancodes-1.html
05 I'm assuming is the total number of characters
19 is P and 0B is 0(zero) 02 is 1(one) 31 is N and 14 is T.
Thanks again!Comment

Re: lenovo miix 520-12IKB
@lextar
Open your BIOS file with UEFITOOL NE version, then on the BIOS Region on the 1st padding file, at Offset 1000h is the password stored as scancodes: first byte N specifies “password length”, then the next N bytes is the actual password (need to convert from scancodes to ASCII), the last byte is the checksum which is calculated as 8-bit addition of all (N+2) bytes, result must be 00h.
If it’s only Setup/BIOS that is locked, meaning that you can boot Windows, use a utility to read the BIOS without having to use a programmer.Comment

Re: lenovo miix 520-12IKB
Yes, I can run windows, only the BIOS is locked.
I will attach here the BIOS with the password and try your procedure to extract the passwordAttached FilesComment

Re: lenovo miix 520-12IKB
@lextar
At offset 1000h you will find this:
0723121E2F12310232h
password length = 07h
password (scancodes) = 23121E2F123102h
checkum (8-bit addition) = 32h
password = HEAVEN1
--------
H - HOTEL ( UPPERCASE )
E - ECHO ( UPPERCASE )
A - ALFA ( UPPERCASE )
V - VICTOR ( UPPERCASE )
E - ECHO ( UPPERCASE )
N - NOVEMBER ( UPPERCASE )
1 - 1 ( digit )
--------
I remember seeing this same password before on posts #45 and #48.Last edited by AAAC; 10-27-2022, 11:01 AM.Comment

by WahazHello,
I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
So I thought it was a Bios problem.
I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....-

by grimacelordHello there.
I am working on a Lenovo Legion T5-26AMR5 desktop that currently has a corrupt BIOS and I have been unsuccessful thus far in trying to fix it myself.
History:
1. This computer came to me initially with an error message that said "BiInitializeLibrary failed 0xc0000001" or "0135 fan error". It would always be one of the two errors. It should be noted that when it produced the fan error, there was no physical problem with the fans. They were all spinning just fine.
I searched for this error online and discovered...-

by jendkkd jejeSo a couple of years ago i got a bios update through Lenovo Vantage, so i installed it and bricked my whole BIOS, so i couldn't fix it so i put that ideapad in a box, 3 years later i found that one PC and want to recover it to switch from a 2014 hp laptop to this one.
I found a method to recover the BIOS of many lenovo laptops tha consists in pluging in a USB Flash with the BIOS files and power on the laptop with Fn + R keys pressed until fans go loud and start beeping loud, but nothing worked, so i think filename is wrong, i tried naming the bios file as 07WW.BIN, BIOS.BIN, BIOS.fd,...10-11-2024, 03:12 PM -
by 1g0rHello everyone,
First, the data in brief:
Manufacturer: Lenovo
Model: ThinkPad L15 G3 21C3-0016GE
motherboard: LG4 LT5 ADL RT UMA MB 8L - 448.0PZ26.0011

So far I've been a silent reader, but now I need your help
I bought a laptop. The seller said the bios was locked. I was looking for a way to remove this ban.
I then got the CH341A and pulled the corresponding files from here https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...evices-and-ele...The laptop was brought in with a BIOS problem and a password. After reading the dump, the information was damaged. I ask for help in the BIOS with a clean ME region. Motherboard 213035-1. Serial number: PW+04e998, Type number: 21c3-0016ge -
by abhorsenHey guys,
Hope you all are doing well. I come here from Win-Raid because I am having issues disabling Flash Protection Range Registers so I can flash my BIOS from within Windows using Intel's IFW tool/using flashrom within Linux, however I cannot due to the above mentioned error.
Here is my thread on Win-Raid detailing the whole process I went through: https://winraid.level1techs.com/t/re...h-gen/95478/27
Essentially I managed to boot into Windows while shorting PINs 1+5 of my audio chip to disable the HAP bit...-
