Re: HP EliteBook 845 G7 BIOS Pass
Check the content of the chip, did you use verification? Also check the soldering of the chip and nearby components, make sure you didn't knock of resistor or something else at the surrounding area.
Edit: also check the soldering of the other chip.

Re: HP EliteBook 845 G7 BIOS Pass
I programmed just the second BIOS chip with updated Bin files you send me, but no luck. Now what happens is the LED on the power jack blinks 5 times fast & stops & then again blinks 5 times & stops & this keeps on going in a loop till I remove the power cord. It does not turn on at all even after pressing the power ON/OFF button on the keyboard. Kindly re-check please. Before this all was working fine except for the ADMIN BIOS Password. Re: HP EliteBook 845 G7 BIOS Pass
if you modify the main bin (unlock) and then write it back, the ec chip sees that it has been played with, then it puts the old backup back with password back in, the newer hp you should not do the old way, this gives these problems and many errorsLeave a comment:

Re: HP EliteBook 845 G7 BIOS Pass
Hello, sorry for my english. I soldered the chips back to the board, the laptop did not start, I looked at the board again and found that the sixth pin was soldered on one of the chips. After the soldering, everything started and, lo and behold, the admin password disappeared, but the Endpoint Security Controller inscription appeared. In any case, it's better than not having access to BIOS settings. Now everything works except this warning at startup.Leave a comment:

Re: RCUnlocker
Hello everyone, I have an HP EliteBook 845 G7
The bios has an admin password. On the board 2 bios WINBOND 25Q256JVEN, both chips are the same in 32MB. I apply 2 bios 32mb each (under the board) + 32mb (under the cover)
Can someone help me remove the admin password?Last edited by Mijgan; 04-01-2022, 08:54 AM.Leave a comment:

Re: HP EliteBook 845 G7 BIOS Pass
There are at least three variants for the new models with EC and SPI, 32 + 32Mb.
Although the EC is usually on the top side of the board requiring removal of the PCB, unlocking by EC will always be the best option.Last edited by onizzbox; 03-20-2022, 05:38 PM.Leave a comment:

Re: HP EliteBook 845 G7 BIOS Pass
It's confusing, so we don't need to delete the Admin password in the remaining file?

by STKR123Greetings badcaps community,
I havent done this for a long time and want to start it all again, after some evil and annyoing illness.
So I apologize in advance, if some phrases might sound a bit like gibberish or illogical to you.
Im trying my best to fully describe what I plan to achieve and hope I was choosing the right sub-forum for my new adventure.
I have a Elitebook 820 G1 and a Elitebook 840 G2 here.
These ask for a password when entering the BIOS, but boot just fine from the internal SSD.

by what_1282105Following this guide (https://www.reddit.com/r/thinkpad/co...g_and_flashing) i re-flashed my t480s BIOS using an external (CH341A) programmer. The flash didnt work, so i reverted back to my BIOS backup successfully. The BIOS in the chip and the BIOS backup file are identical according to windows' file compare. The revert, however, didnt work: the only thing the computer does is flash the power button 3 times when AC power is connected. I've tried unplugging the CMOS battery, holding the reset button and holding down the power button- no signs of life....

by BloodhoundjeHi everyone,
I have been doing hardware repair as a hobby for some years now and recently decided to learn about repairing laptops as a fun challenge.
I managed to get my hands on a "HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ec2523nd" notebook that only shows a white power LED and doesnt respond to anything.
After initial testing I concluded the bios seems to be corrupted since all voltages are normal and there are no shorts. HP has a feature for a bios restore from USB with winkey+B for this model. This did not work.
I have desoldered the bios chip (GigaDevice...-
