Meglepődve tapasztaltam, hogy ennek a modellnek két egyforma 256-os chipje van az alaplapon! Fel kell oldanom a bios jelszót, valaki meg tudná mondani melyik chipet kell olvasni? A kos oldalán vagy a hátulján? Előre is köszönöm!

I was surprised to find that this model has two identical 256 chips on the motherboard! I need to unlock the bios password, can someone tell me which chip to read? On the side of the ram or on the back? Thanks in advance!

Question: I see a listing on eBay sell a Bios Lock HP Elitebook G7.
So, I google how to take care of Bios Lock, and google tell me to simply remove the CMOS Battery for few seconds to few minutes and put it back to reset it.
When I land in this topic, I see the process that is discuss here is much more complicated than that. So I am wondering:
1) if the bios lock mention in the eBay post is different than the BIOS lock in this thread
or 2) It's the same bios lock, but remove the CMOS battery won't reset the BIOS lock like some google results suggest.

first boot press f10 apply factory defaults and restart, 2nd boot reset security settings to defaults and exit.
use BCU. you can permanently disable Absolute lock in BCU.

I havent done this for a long time and want to start it all again, after some evil and annyoing illness.
So I apologize in advance, if some phrases might sound a bit like gibberish or illogical to you.

Following this guide (https://www.reddit.com/r/thinkpad/co...g_and_flashing) i re-flashed my t480s BIOS using an external (CH341A) programmer. The flash didnt work, so i reverted back to my BIOS backup successfully. The BIOS in the chip and the BIOS backup file are identical according to windows' file compare. The revert, however, didnt work: the only thing the computer does is flash the power button 3 times when AC power is connected. I've tried unplugging the CMOS battery, holding the reset button and holding down the power button- no signs of life.... -

I have been doing hardware repair as a hobby for some years now and recently decided to learn about repairing laptops as a fun challenge.
I managed to get my hands on a "HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ec2523nd" notebook that only shows a white power LED and doesnt respond to anything.
After initial testing I concluded the bios seems to be corrupted since all voltages are normal and there are no shorts. HP has a feature for a bios restore from USB with winkey+B for this model. This did not work.
