    Thanks Markus!

PS: Might be a problem running it on ubuntu 22.04. It has Phyton3 out of the box. Therefore I had to change the script from phyton to phyton3. Furthermure I gave execution rights to "autopatch" and both UEFIReplace-Executables. But then still I get the above libQt5Core.so.5 error. Does anybody have an idea how to fix this?

Hello, I'm trying to use the auto patcher in the bios of my p52s but it gives me the same file or I can't find the new bios generated.
Can someone please explain to me how to apply the patch correctly?
I am attaching my bios in case someone can help me patch it.
      Thank you so much!!

But you start the right script with the command:

          python3 autopatch.py P52S.bin

          Please don't ./autopatch P52S.bin, that won't work.

Maybe my screenshot will provide some clarity, so of course I've been doing this all the time with a shell script.

I managed to remove the password and access the BIOS. I thought that by logging in I could correct the BIOS ACPI error but I couldn't

Hi there, new user here. I have a question. I have a Yoga x1 gen 3 (20LE) with 8th gen cpu. Will this tool work being it "... up to the 8th generation"? I would like to remove the supervisor's password for disabling Computrace.

Hi. I have found all the replies you pointed out. I'm not reckless. The same model can be configured with both 7th gen and 8th gen (check PSREF here https://cdn.badcaps-static.com/pdfs/...445f7384e6.pdf ).

Only one comment (by caputcha) mentioned 20LE, but again, I'm not sure if there is 20LE with 7th or 8th gen processor.

"Only one comment" - I don't know if you are reckless or not, but you are clearly lazy since you obviously didn't even look at the last link in my post:

This is the list I use, seems like it contains most of the models compatible with the DXE driver patch solution, if it's not in the list, most likely the DXE driver patch won't work, specially if BIOS is 32MB:

                    Code:

In fact, what exactly do you want - written guarantees from the creator of the tool or what? In post #1 it is explicitly stated that the tool can be used at your own risk, try it or continue using your laptop with a locked bios, if you find another easier and/or secure way to remove the password feel free to share it with us.

Re: LENOVO BIOS AUTO-PATCHER for Supervisor Password Removal

Hi all, i was given a Lenovo X240 but supervisor password locked.
On top of that the i cannot boot into Windows OS as it goes into this:

                      Recovery
Your PC/Device needs to be repaired

"The Boot Configuration Data file doesn't contain valid information for an operating system".
                      File: \BCD
                      Status: 0xc000000e

You'll need to use recovery tools. If you don't have any installation media (like a disk or USB device) contact your PC administrator or PC/Device manufacturer.

I could not change the boot as its disabled.

                      Any advice please?

                          Hello,

This is just to let you know that I was able to successfully remove the supervisor password from my X270 (which I bought as "used" without being told that there was a supervisor password set, which the previous owner did no longer remember).

Using Ubuntu 20.04, I tried follow the instructions given in the first message. After making autopatch and tools/UEFIReplace executable and changing python to python3 in autopatch (since I use python2 as default here), I was able to create the patched bios and upload it. When booting with it, I first got some strange CRC error messages and at least two automatic reboots, before I got indeed exactly into the sequence described in the first message. After reinstalling the original bios, I got again the CRC error message, but it disappeared after loading the default bios settings.

So now my X270 got finally rid of the supervisor password and I owe a BIG THANK YOU to Knucklegrumble!!!

You don`t install it,its a standalone program. The instructions for usage are at post #1

From command line use either autopatch.cmd (Windows) or autopatch.sh (Linux) as follows:

                                autopatch <your_bios_image.ext>

                                THAT'S IT!

                                    Hello,

I have Lenovo T450 and I try this method for removing my bios password using CH341a tool.
I have followed every step but when i rstore the original bios my t450 does not display.
Just power light on for 2 seconds then it went off.

                                    Kindly help me in this.

I tried this method in a Thinkbook 14s-IWL, I made 2-3 dumps with a CH341A, when I use the program with any of the dumps it give me this error.

"Using UEFIReplace to inject 2 DXE drivers...
                                          [1/2] BootOption (GUID e0746c42-d3f9-4f8b-b211-1410957b9ff5)
tb-14s-iwl-20rm.bin is corrupted or does not contain a valid dump.
                                          There was an error... Aborting."

The bios chip is a W25Q128JVSQ.

And the EC is a Lenovo IT5576E-128.

Is this model compatible with this method?

Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.

Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...

                                            Hello,

I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
So I thought it was a Bios problem.
I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....

                                            Hi everyone,

I have been doing hardware repair as a hobby for some years now and recently decided to learn about repairing laptops as a fun challenge.

I managed to get my hands on a "HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ec2523nd" notebook that only shows a white power LED and doesnt respond to anything.

After initial testing I concluded the bios seems to be corrupted since all voltages are normal and there are no shorts. HP has a feature for a bios restore from USB with winkey+B for this model. This did not work.

I have desoldered the bios chip (GigaDevice...
