Re: LENOVO BIOS AUTO-PATCHER for Supervisor Password Removal
Good day to all - I hope you're doing well.
This is my first post, so it might get a little winded. As a novice, to all things bios, this entire process seems a bit daunting,
but unperturbed "I endeavor to persevere".
Last year - from a recycle outlet - I received a couple of Lenovo laptops - T460s 20FA, and an X220 - with bios password.
I can use the X220 - which I am now - but not the T460s. Luckily I Googled, and found you fine folks. YAY!
Since then, I've been trolling this site - for a couple of months - with the exception of the holiday season - Happy New Year! -
trying to obtain as much knowledge as possible to remove the bios pswd, and to avoid asking questions,
that will most likely be ignored by all of you fine individuals.
Believing I had ascertained the requisite knowledge, I decided to scream JERONIMO!
My test laptop is the Lenovo X220, running Windows 7 Pro 32bit.
I have purchased - what I believe is the prerequisite hardware - a test Clip Board EEPROM BIOS Programmer CH341A.
1) I have downloaded and installed AsProgrammer_2.0.0a14; Colibri (not sure yet if needed); lenovo_autopatcher_0.2;
NeoProgrammer V2.2.0.8; Phyton 3.8 (not sure if it’s installed correctly); and UEFITool_0.28.0_win32.
2) I've also downloaded "Patched T460S ME_CLEAN", which I haven't done anything with as of yet.
3) I've extracted - 3 times without error - the original -as far as I know - bios image from a Winbond W25Q128FV bios chip on the T460s (20FA).
4) I have placed a copy of the original bios .bin - named "tp460sbios.bin" - in the lenovo_autopatcher folder, then pressed shift,
and using my mouse, right clicked on autopatch.cmd, but only a cmd window flashes on screen.
No additional output is produced – so my dilemma – I’m not sure how to procced next.
What I’ve been having difficulty finding, and I'd like - if you all would be so kind – is for someone to provide me with a link,
or tutorial that can help me accomplish the task at hand, without my interrupting – any further – the excellent work you're accomplishing – meant sincerely – without me asking inane questions – as if this post isn't already.
Much appreciated any, and all assistance, positive, and or negative.
Thanks,
deviouswun.

by jbonavitaHi, my laptop wont boot at all
With original bios no POST, only LED lights
With alternative BIOS from model TP500LN (flashed via programmer) the notebook works again
Some issues
A- with bios from 500LN, it won't update from bios of model 500LA (from 500LN v203 to 500LA v300)
B- If updated from 500LN version 203 to 300, the battery stops being recognized
Things I tried
1- Update / clear ME: Took the non working bios, made a backup, and did this: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...theory/trouble...-

by zeniusHello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.
Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...-

by WahazHello,
I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
So I thought it was a Bios problem.
I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....-

by BloodhoundjeHi everyone,
I have been doing hardware repair as a hobby for some years now and recently decided to learn about repairing laptops as a fun challenge.
I managed to get my hands on a "HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ec2523nd" notebook that only shows a white power LED and doesnt respond to anything.
After initial testing I concluded the bios seems to be corrupted since all voltages are normal and there are no shorts. HP has a feature for a bios restore from USB with winkey+B for this model. This did not work.
I have desoldered the bios chip (GigaDevice...-
