    HP 14-cf0014dx

    Hi, I have an HP 14-cf0014dx that came in turning on and only asked for the windows password to be reset. It was reset by just filling nothing in the fields and it turned itself off, in front of the customer. It will turn on again but no video, no beeps, fan on high and after about 10 seconds, it turns itself off. I have tried obtaining the original BIOS from HP support, but for some reason it does not appear at all, all other drivers are there but not for the BIOS.
    Can someone clean this BIOS or suggest where or how to do it?

          Thank you lapfix, unfortunately, it does exactly the same thing, fan turns on high, no video and after a few seconds it turns off, no loop. Fault lies somewhere else, and customer just wants his data out, will buy another one.

              Try this virgin bios from HP. You will need to enter the serial etc using nbdmifit/wndmifit/HP BCU bios config utility.

                  Thank you SMDFlea. Unfortunately, the laptop still has same symptoms, no video, turns on and then off. I believe this must be a hardware issue. What surprises me is that there is no BIOS update for this laptop from HP support. I will examine this BIOS and get the tools mentioned, already I have learned a lot.
                  Update: laptop no longer in my hands. I really wanted to fix it.

In the normal startup process, my pc's power led will turn on, the hdd led will flash brightly for a moment, then beeps once and you would know that everything is starting up fine. But recently, it will just flash dimly(sometimes too dim to see) and then nothing, no beep to show it is posting but the psu is on and all fans/hdds/peripherals/usb are on, even the lan port is flashing. Luckily, I discovered that pressing the reset button after the power button will initiate the post (the hdd led will flash brightly, beeps once and everything starts up fine),...

                      MacBook Pro 14" M1 Pro Turns on functions then turns off when I plug in USB C cable to reset the computer. I disconnect the battery fully and then reconnect it and it won't turn back on. After letting it sit for a day I plug the battery back up, and the MagSafe 3 cable and it powers on and stays ons, once I plug in a USB C cable into the port closes to the MagSafe port it turns off and the Amber light turns off and won't turn on. No water damage, nothing, I want to do a DFU restore to wipe the computer since the customer stated they did an update and ever since it just decided to not work...

                      LG L192WS-BN backlight turns off after 1 second

                      I am testing an old LG L192WS-BN monitor I have that gives an image, but has a backlight issue. When you turn it on the backlight turns on 1 second and it turns off, turns on again, 1 second and it turns off and stays off. Using a flashlight I can see there's still an image.

                      I replaced a bulged cap on the main board, but made no difference. I also got another exact same model monitor that has a broken ccfl (the connector got ripped from the panel and the main screen connector is also broken so I can't use this panel to test), tried using the main board from this one, same issue....

                      About 2 times a year, a customer will do this. We fix the tv, put it on test play, and customer sees it working. They see me pull power and video wire. Sometimes I pick up tv, right in front of them, and carry it out to their vehicle while they are next to me. I set it in their tv gently, and tell them the tv is very fragile, be careful with it. I let them close the door/trunk. That day, or a few days later, they tell me there is a crack inside the tv. Normally I tell them transportation is their responsibility and normally that is the end of it. Has anyone had a customer that was not buying this...
