Re: Hp probook 640 g1 bios
Maybe this is not a problem with the BIOS? A year ago I got this notebook and it had the problem described here. After cleaning the ME region, it suddenly works again. But after a few months it stopped working and the same problem like now appears. I had no time to fix it and leave it in this state until now. I resoldered my cable to the flash chip and readout and flashing incl. verifying works. So I tried the same procedure like that time but now I can't get it working again. Are there any other reason why caps lock is blinking 5 times followed by high speed CPU fan? I have read that this is happening when the embedded controller does not get the BIOS POST message within a certain time. So does this mean that it can't have anything to do with some power rails? The flash chip is getting 3.3V at VCC.Comment

Thanks for your help!
Well it is much better then before, but there are still some missing information. Product family and System Board CT number are missing if I understand well.
Entered into BIOS and find the following informations.
How can I update the missing informations as well?

by zeniusHello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.
Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...-

by traxformaniaHello,
I'm using TONGFANG "GM7TG7P" model laptop for over 3 years and i'm entering the same bios administrator password everyday. My laptop has Aptio BIOS (American Megatrends, AMI).
But today it's not accepting my password. I'm %100 sure i'm entering the correct password.
I'm trying to reset my bios without success.
I tried :
-I removed the BIOS battery and main battery. Waited for a long time but it didn't work. They already stated in the user manual that the password will not be reset even if the batteries... -

by NopslideHello everyone, I come here to tell you my problem regarding the power-on password. It is not a bios reset demand, and i can't have any access to windows. This is the bios and power-on password that is blocking all other things.
My Omen 15-dh0052nf purchased second-hand was configured with the bios password upon purchase (very simple password :P ).
Having decided to sell it in order to get something more powerful, I reset all BIOS settings and set a blank administrator password. But the power-on password cannot be changed to a blank one so I let the actual password set....-
