Compaq CQ71 - How can I fully dump my own BIOS?

I have two Compaq CQ71-203sf (Intel boards).

One is fully working, the other one does not work (seems to POST, backlight is on but no picture).

I would like to fully dump the BIOS that is on the working machine (BIOS and all DMI info). Then I would flash it to the non-working laptop.

Please let me know of a utility/software that could help me achieve a full BIOS dump easily.

    Thank you in advance.

Re: Compaq CQ71 - How can I fully dump my own BIOS?

Please also note that I have already flashed quite a few BIOS'es to the non-working PC. But the best result I had is:

    1ST BOOT
PC will boot after flash. Caps led is on, the off, the backlight is on, but... NO picture :/. Keyboard seems to work (Ctrl+alt+Del will reboot). No VGA signal. I can even initiate a BIOS recovery with Win+B on startup and a BIOS on USB key. PC will beep during BIOS recovery.

    BUT

    2ND BOOT
On second boot after flash, PC will still turn on. But NO backlight this time. Caps lock led is steady. Power button long press does not shut down the laptop. Keyboard does not seem to work. I have to unplug AC adapter.

    THEN

PC will not start at all. Power led is on near the power jack, but PC will not start at all. I have to flash the BIOS again to have it boot as in "1st boot" description above.

This is all very weird to me :/...

Please let me know what you think. Any help appreciated

Re: Compaq CQ71 - How can I fully dump my own BIOS?

To make a full dump with software it's not easy (depend of the age of the board) there is a tool fpt or for 64 bit fptw64 (you can find in intel ME System Tools ) but in most cases the operation fail due to some protection.
Usually to obtain a dump is used a programmer after the desoldering process of the spi chip.

I need a BIOS dump for the Samsung S49CG934SU monitor
        by Habble7
The Samsung S49CG934SU monitor does not power on - no LED indicator activity and no response to power button. However, when 21V power is connected, it immediately draws 0.8A of current with no display output. The motherboard processor gets warm, and there is continuous reading activity from the W25Q128BV BIOS chip.

        Suspected Cause:
I suspect the BIOS may have been corrupted during a power interruption while updating the firmware. The official website provides firmware updates, but they can only be installed via USB flash drive.

MSI PRO B660M-G DDR4 - real bios dump from board needed (no stock bios)
        by DynaxSC
Hi, I have an MSI PRO B660M-G DDR4 board with damaged BIOS and i need a bios dump from a real board, along with MAC, UUID and Serial Number info (eg. a BIOS screenshot and pictures from the board stickers).

I need to reconstruct the bios on my board, based on another bios image form a real board - meaning a bios image containing MAC address, UUID and Serial number. A stock BIOS is not suffiecient, as it is impossible to discover where the MAC, UUID and SerialNumber are stored. Tried with a similar board, but there are too much differences, and the stock BIOS is missing a lot of...

This laptop is the same laptop I was working on in this thread and I wasn't sure if I should post a new topic or post in that thread because I already solved the issue that thread was discussing and this is a completely different issue although it is dealing with the same laptop. I decided to make a new thread since it's a new issue, but please move if I made a mistake.

Who has a MSI Z590 PRO WIFI - Need BIOS dump ?
        by DynaxSC
        Hi,

I need a BIOS dump for MSI Z590 PRO WIFI from a real physical board, along with MAC address and serial no.

It must be a dump from a physical board, as it contains personalized data eg. MAC Address, UUID, Serial no.

I have a board which has lost the BIOS contents, I have the MAC and serial to this board, and need to insert it into the another BIOS image. To do it, I need to have a real image from a real board, as the images from the MSI site are without this data. The only way to find where MAC/UUID/Serial is located in the BIOS is to have a bios...

[REQUEST] Fujitsu Lifebook E5513 – Full BIOS Dump Needed (.bin)
        by TacticalFahrrad
        Hi everyone,

I'm trying to recover a Fujitsu Lifebook E5513 (most likely 2023 model) that was bricked during a BIOS update. The update was interrupted (probably due to power loss), and now the laptop is stuck in a boot loop showing "PBB rollback" / "SBB rollback" messages.
BIOS access (F2) and Boot Menu (F12) are no longer possible – the system instantly reboots after the rollback messages.

I extracted the official BIOS update package from Fujitsu (contains FJNB2FD.CAP, ~18.7 MB) and tried tools like UEFIExtract, but it seems to only contain...
