HP EliteBook 850 G3 corrupted extracted image
Hello everyone,
I was dumping an image when my programmer was flipped over just a tiny bit. as the result of that micro accident, I got a corrupted image. I extracted the image 2 times and then compared both copies and they are different.
I've tried to make one image from both, but did not worked. then I grabbed another image from another hp which is the same model and then tried to edit the serial but cannot get a working image.
Could anyone help me?
Thanks in advanceLast edited by SMDFlea; 04-02-2023, 12:22 PM.Comment

Re: HP EliteBook 850 G3 corrupted extracted image
3 long beeps and 2 short beeps means:
Indicates potential memory failure.
Reseat memory.
Correct memory configuration (correct DIMM placement and size/type matching).
Test with known good memory.
Replace affected component.Comment

Re: HP EliteBook 850 G3 corrupted extracted image
Thank you for your comment.
Let me explain what happened...
I was dumping the image of the bios chip from the laptop.
Then out of nowhere my programmer flipped over just a bit, and very slowly while I was extracting the image from the chip. I never thought the bios image could get corrupted just by that tiny flip, but it happened.
Then after I encounter the issue I removed the chip again and made another copy, I mean, I extracted the chip again. and I noticed that the image was not the same. I compared them and both copies were not the same. there is a tiny difference in both images.
I was removing the bios password from the image as usual. now all I want is to get a working copy of the bios.Comment

Re: HP EliteBook 850 G3 corrupted extracted image
The bios at post #2 has initialised ME firmware, which means that it would need cleaning , or just search the forum for an 850 G3 bios with clean ME firmware.Comment

Re: HP EliteBook 850 G3 corrupted extracted image
Hello SMDFlea, Thank you so much for this achievement. the image worked fine. after I turned the hp on, the bios was updated automatically. does this means that I should not worry about any serial number, and so on? Thank you again SMFlea.
I also wanted to add that Claudio was right. after I installed the new bios image, the beep was still there. then remembered what Claudio mentioned on post #5. so what I did is move one stick of ram to the other slot and that took care the beeping sound. Thank You Claudio.Comment

by Habble7The Samsung S49CG934SU monitor does not power on - no LED indicator activity and no response to power button. However, when 21V power is connected, it immediately draws 0.8A of current with no display output. The motherboard processor gets warm, and there is continuous reading activity from the W25Q128BV BIOS chip.
Suspected Cause:
I suspect the BIOS may have been corrupted during a power interruption while updating the firmware. The official website provides firmware updates, but they can only be installed via USB flash drive.

by DynaxSCHi, I have an MSI PRO B660M-G DDR4 board with damaged BIOS and i need a bios dump from a real board, along with MAC, UUID and Serial Number info (eg. a BIOS screenshot and pictures from the board stickers).
I need to reconstruct the bios on my board, based on another bios image form a real board - meaning a bios image containing MAC address, UUID and Serial number. A stock BIOS is not suffiecient, as it is impossible to discover where the MAC, UUID and SerialNumber are stored. Tried with a similar board, but there are too much differences, and the stock BIOS is missing a lot of...11-17-2023, 10:56 AM -
by GuestHello,
I have an EliteBook 850 G5. After a Windows update, including a BIOS update, the notebook turns on, but the screen remains black, and the fans spin at high speed—nothing else happens.
I assume the BIOS update failed, so I searched for the BIOS chip.
I found a Winbond chip located between the RAM and the hard drive, which has a size of 32 MB.
However, the BIOS update available on HP's website is only 17 MB in size. I used the update version that was previously installed when the notebook was still working.
Can the corrupted...-

by DynaxSCHi,
I need a BIOS dump for MSI Z590 PRO WIFI from a real physical board, along with MAC address and serial no.
It must be a dump from a physical board, as it contains personalized data eg. MAC Address, UUID, Serial no.
I have a board which has lost the BIOS contents, I have the MAC and serial to this board, and need to insert it into the another BIOS image. To do it, I need to have a real image from a real board, as the images from the MSI site are without this data. The only way to find where MAC/UUID/Serial is located in the BIOS is to have a bios...-
