Hello! Can you help me please.
thinkpad a275 not working after trying to reset bios.
    Black screen.
I found a clean firmware on the forum. Clear.
After starting the laptop - the Lenovo logo and reboot again.
When pressing Enter - Error 0183: Bad CRC of Security Security Settings in EFI variable.
I press F1 - and the computer restarts again.
I have a backup of the old bios - but it doesn't work.
Can you see what happened to the old backup? Or somehow transfer the data from the old backup to a clear one? I could only find the Windows serial number.

In addition to my message, I also attach the original file and the Patch one I got, but with this I get that it doesn't work by reprogramming the eprom with the original BIOS, it works as before, protected by password. It is a Lenovo T495 version 20NK. I performed the operations with the main battery and backup battery disconnected.

Good day, I'm looking for someone in the forum who can give me information on whether he has managed to remove the password on a T495, from what I see in the messages from SmartGuru@24 and from black0hackers it seems so, I'm asking for your help as by patching the my Bios as indicated in a few previous messages I only get a series of sounds the black screen and the cpu fan that spins for a few seconds then stops, I also waited a certain time by pressing keys but no none. Thank you

Just to clarify to remove bios password from a Lenovo T450

I have a Xgecu TL866 II Plus programmer, is this suitable?

Need to extract original bios making sure i have a backup and follow the instructions here - https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpo...52&postcount=1

Basically running the patcher at the original bios file, which will make a patched bios file, which you then flash back on to the chip?

I hope you read that carefully, everything should be fine with your BIOS file.

I just cleaned the ME region, I don't know if that will help, try it.

    Good luck ...

Activation of Management Engine after exchange Z590 chipset - ASUS PRIME Z590M-PLUS
    by DynaxSC
Hi, i have an ASUS PRIME Z590M-PLUS board, which had an shorted Z590 chipset. I have succesfully exchanged the chipset to a factory new one, however there is a serious problem with the Intel Management Engine (later on: ME) not beeing activated after the chipset device replacement.

For lower chipset families (on ASUS boards) it worked to program the oldest bios version into the SPI rom, and the bios had activated the Management Engine itself by default - there was a message on the screen prior booting - "BIOS is updating Management Engine ..... . Its a bit of a long tale but i swapped the original hd for a 2tb ssd,i want about 6 bootable partitions,it needs the uefi enabling in the bios,I am ok with that, the issue is i cant convert the drive to gpt when it has data on it,the issue is windows wont install to a gpt drive, there is a utility from hp to install the efi partition on the drive but it runs on windows, its a chicken and egg thing, can anyone explaine how hp did this?,I am pulling my hair out;it seems i need to run the hp uefi tool to make the uefi option work in the bios, but it needs windows to run this that wont install on a gpt...

Is unlocking UEFI worth the hassle? (Surface Pro 4)
    by CronaxFD
    Hey guys,

Bought myself Surface Pro 4 tablet today on a local craigslist-type website.
I've seen that UEFI was password protected and of course the seller forgot the password, but decided to buy it anyway.
Really needed such a tablet to use with RomRaider to do some logging/tuning on my car.
It has secure boot turned off and boots from USB, so I've formatted SSD and have done clean win10 install.

Works fine, but wanted to ask, are there any real security risks associated with UEFI settings on Surface (remote access etc.)?

    From what I've...

Intel NUC NUC6i3SYH UEFI Update went wrong
    by S70rm7r00p3r
    Hi guys.

I am very new to this business and i have some questions. Maybe someone can help me further.

I have a 2015 Intel NUC NUC6i3SYH and for some internet and office the computer works perfectly. Lately it has been bugging me a bit on and off. Then I saw there is a UEFI update from Intel and I thought if I put it on, the problems might be gone, but unfortunately the update didn't go through. The screen stayed black and after waiting for a while nothing happened, I had to pull the plug at some point. Of course, the NUC then failed to boot!

    Modify BIOS to non-uefi
    by hexdy
Hello, I wanted to know if it is possible to modify a BIOS file to accept a legacy disk when it does not have the capability, I had this problem on a Optiplex 3060 that were donated to my job where we use non-uefi linux distros, we cannot use uefi since is a "big machine" with this systems beign the center of all of it, we can't change the distro now, maybe make some changes, but if I can modify the BIOS it would be awesome.
