Re: HP Probook 4540s - BIOS

Hi, my first (second) post here.

I have two similar HP ProBook 4540s-es with Radeon HD graphics on board, one had a dead bios chip. I managed to revive it by dumping an image from the working one with UsbAsp, flashing it to the clean flash chip, and replacing it on the dead one.

Now the problem that I cannot resolve, is how to replace UUID, SKU and CSN with the proper ones.
I have replaced the relevant numbers with those proper to the case (UUID left intact), flashed the image, soldered the chip back in place, but the laptop would just blink the power button, as if BIOS is wrong.
I replaced the old ones with FFFFs and the laptop does boot.
Also, where can I find an UUID for it, I cannot seem to find it anywhere on the case.

Dump with cleaned password and serials attached.

Before you ask me - yes, I have tried NbDmiFit in various uses, but I cannot get MPM unlocked.
I.e. uefimpmunlock.efi method with various versions gives me some MEFirmware error.

FSMC.bin -> SMC.bin method just lights up the CapsLock lighgt and does not unlock MPM.

So, the most sure method would be to replace the serials directly in the binary or , probably, have the MPM bit set to 1 therein, but I could not find any MPM-related stuff in the dump except for the counter and as specified above, the direct replacement of serial to something different to FFFF makes the system unbootable.

Please provide an advice, method or modify my firmware to make it MPM unlocked.

    Thank you.

Need Clean BIOS/EC Bin File for Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e - Stuck with 0275 Error CMS

    Hello everyone,

I am attempting a repair on a Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e that is currently stuck at boot with the error: "0275 error CMS" even after setup new bios battery and will not allow me to enter the BIOS/Setup.

This is a critical issue that I believe requires flashing the BIOS chip directly using a programmer (e.g., CH341A/RT809H), as standard software updates or resets are not possible.

I have opened the laptop and identified the main BIOS chip...

Bricked HP Probook 450 G7 Bios questions
    by studdy05
Hp Probook 450 G7 s# SCD0348W35 had a locked BIOS. Bought BIOS and EC chips off Ebay that were supposed to match this machine - the 450 G7. Flashed in the BIOS on chip i bought using a CH341. BIOS unlocked next boot. Some error to contact HP. Entered BIOS and reset to system defaults and rebooted. Machine worked fine but every cold boot the contact HP message popped and everything else worked as fine. Assumed the error was from EC chip not matching BIOS that i just flashed in. So i flashed in the EC that was supposed to match from the EBay chip i bought and instant brick.

    Ive got...

    Hi all,

My Samsung Galaxy Book 2 Pro 15.6-inch laptop has no display and won't boot.
The charging red LED lights up, but the charging screen doesn't show any indication.
When I press the power button, the blue LED cycles on and off three times, then the screen doesn't turn on, and the device won't boot.
(I've tried removing the battery and resetting the device, but the issue persists.)

Looking for BIOS flash file for HUAWEI MateBook X Pro 2019 (MACH-WX9)
    by maanee11
    Hello Everyone,

I have HUAWEI MateBook X Pro 2019 (MACH-WX9) whose BIOS got corrupted i beleive. I have acquired Ch341A SPI flasher to program the BIOS externally. I see that to program the BIOS, i need BIOS bin/hex file which i could use to reflash it externally via the flasher tool.

It seems like the support page of this model no longer exist: https://consumer.huawei.com/be/lapto...ro-2019/specs/

In the website, you can only see specs etc.

I have not tried to extract the BIOS dump yet as I want to see if there is any ray of sunshine...

Notice to users of XGecu TL866II Plus / T48 / T56 / T76 programmers regarding BIOS backup file size
    by m1ch43lzm
    Hi everyone
I noticed on the Xgpro software the BIOS backup files have extra bytes at the end when reading some chips, this is because the Xgpro software also reads the OTP region of those flash chips, and by default will append that region to the saved file
    Programmer models: XGecu TL866II Plus / T48 / T56 / T76

Example: GD25LQ128D (1.8V), IC size is listed as 0x1000000 Bytes (16777216 bytes) + 0xC00 bytes, those extra 0xC00 bytes will be appended to the end of the saved file by default, resulting in a file size of 16780288 bytes
There's also an extra OTP Secu.R...
