    Lenovo B590 20208 Bios Problem

Hello, I wanted to update my laptop's BIOS from h1et40ww to h9et92ww. The website says I need to install h9et75ww first, so I tried installing that version first, but the installation failed and when I press the power button, the laptop momentarily turns on and off (the power light immediately flashes). I tried the crisis files with Fn+R but they didn't work (it works for about 30 seconds with Fn+R but nothing displays on the screen). How can I get a BIOS update file that I can use with Fn+R? Maybe I'm naming the files I put on the USB drive incorrectly. The ones I've tried are bios.bin, bios.cap, bios.wph, bios.fd. Has anyone else had this issue and know a solution? By the way, the crisis folder is inside the h9et75ww update. I don't have the original h1et40ww update.

I've done some testing. What I noticed is that when I remove the RAM and turn on the laptop, it doesn't shut down. However, since the RAM isn't installed, there's no display. Could it be that the BIOS isn't recognizing the RAM?

I would be very happy if you could help me.

If the update failed, the bios is corrupted...
post the contents of the bios chip even if it is corrupted..

The bios chip must be unsoldered from the board before writing or reading..
do not use the clip, you may have errors..if you do not have anything to unsolder it with,
solder wires between the programmer and the bios chip..

you need an SPI programmer...here is a video for example..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWWi...nnel=ThisIsHow

Thanks for the reply. I'll try to do that and post it if I can. Also, is there a link where I can get the hotfix version of H1ET40WW.

The device arrived at my place late. But I got the file you wanted.

By the way, I'm sure the original version is h1et40ww, but the content of the backup I took said 84ww, I think. I couldn't find the h1et40ww version anywhere

If the original is h1et40ww then only h1et** versions should be used.

Thanks for your answer. But I tried the bin files of versions h1et84 and 85. I loaded it into the chip with ch341a. The good news is that the computer no longer turns off when I press the power button. The bad news is that there is no image on the screen. Another thing I noticed is that the fan starts up and once it stops, it continues to run. I think I need to install an older bios version (63ww, 69ww, 75ww) but I can't find it. Could the bios version I installed be incompatible with the ec version running on h1et40ww.

This is the latest bios version I installed. Is there an error in the file that's why I'm stuck on the black screen? Do I need to edit the file or something?

I'm sorry if my constant texting seems like spam, but this is the EC file I got from the 4 megabyte chip. I don't know if it will be of any use.

The oldest version i could find is h1et73ww ,flash the bios ,then if it boots up run the bios update, it will update the EC firmware.

It didn't work. When I installed the 73ww you gave me, the computer didn't respond at all. The version number is not written in the content either. I think I need both the bios file and the ec file. If anyone has it on the forum, I would be happy if they shared it.

The solution was right in front of my eyes here. I solved the problem with a file I downloaded from this topic. It contained the bios and ec file and when I uploaded both, the problem was solved. Thanks for your interest and help.

                                    Hello
I have downloaded a BIOS update tool from the Lenovo site 9dcn34ww.exe when I opened it in 7zip I saw a file called ZIWB2304.ROM which I assumed was the bios file and it loads into UEFItool. The issue is the file size, it is 10,101,992 bytes whereas the dump file I downloaded from the motherboard is 8,388,608 bytes why is there a discrepancy? Also, if I used a plain .bin file from Lenovo would that automatically update the pertinent information from the laptop on first boot? (or does the bios update tool do this?).
                                    Thanks in advance
                                    Matthew

Lenovo Legion Y540 – Need help repairing BIOS after bad downgrade
                                    by gestalt.exe
                                    Hi everyone,

My Lenovo Legion Y540 (i7-9750H, RTX 2060) bricked after I downgraded from BHCN44WW to BHCN21WW.
                                    Laptop stopped booting entirely.

I used a CH341A programmer to dump the corrupted 16MB BIOS.
                                    i then attempted the following:
                                    1. Downloaded stock BIOS BHCN39WW from Lenovo
                                    2. Trimmed it to 16MB
                                    3. Extracted the BIOS region from the corrupted dump
                                    4. Extracted the BIOS region from the stock 39WW
                                    5. Replaced the corrupted BIOS region with the stock one (within hxd , opened the corrupted dump and replaced its region by the stock)
                                    6. Injected back my LDGB / DMI
                                    ...

                                    Hello,

I have a Lenovo Legion S7 15ACH6 that was interrupted during a BIOS update and is now bricked. Symptoms: fans spin, RGB keyboard lights up, but no display/POST.

                                    The BIOS chip is a Gigadevice GD25LR128. I’m using a CH341A with a 1.8 V adapter. In AsProgrammer I selected GD25Q128 (since GD25LR128 isn’t listed) and successfully made a dump (BiosDump2_pf3eg12j.rar).

My understanding is that I’ll need a known good BIOS dump for this exact model, ideally matched to my laptop’s serial number (PF3EG12J), and that the Windows license key/serial should also...

Need Clean BIOS/EC Bin File for Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e - Stuck with 0275 Error CMS

                                    Hello everyone,

I am attempting a repair on a Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e that is currently stuck at boot with the error: "0275 error CMS" even after setup new bios battery and will not allow me to enter the BIOS/Setup.

This is a critical issue that I believe requires flashing the BIOS chip directly using a programmer (e.g., CH341A/RT809H), as standard software updates or resets are not possible.

I have opened the laptop and identified the main BIOS chip...

Lenovo IdeaPad 3 - Hard Disk not recognized in BIOS
                                    by mkdj
                                    Dear all,

I have recently fixed a Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15 ALC6 that was not booting due to a BIOS issue. After flashing the BIOS, the laptop boots up, but hard disk is not recognized in BIOS. Is says "Hard Disk : Not Installed". I have tried with 2 different drives (one that I know is working on another laptop) but I get the same result. I do not know if disks were recognized before I got the laptop and fix it, but I don't see any reason why not. I can boot on USB though.

Here the steps I have taken to fix the laptop:
                                    - downloaded latest BIOS from Lenovo Website...
