I have a corrupted BIOS on a replacement motherboard for my Lenovo Yoga 6 13ALC7 Type 82UD and I am not sure exactly how to go about fixing it.

I wanted to upgrade my laptop's motherboard from the 8GB Ryzen 5 5500U CPU variant to the 16GB Ryzen 7 5700U variant. I replaced the motherboard, and on the first boot with the new motherboard, the BIOS went to recovery and the BitLocker screen came on. I was not able to add my activation key before the laptop automatically shut off, and ever since then I am met with a black (but still on) display whenever I turn on the computer. Given that it was able to boot on the first time around, I figure it must be a corrupted BIOS.

I thought that I can just flash the working BIOS from my old motherboard onto this new motherboard. However I found another BIOS (follow this link) here on Badcaps, and I found using WinMerge that there are many differences in the content of the BIOS between that copy and the one I pulled from my old working motherboard. The BIOS in the link is also for the 8GB Ryzen 5500U variant (I checked from the serial number). I thought that BIOS for the same motherboard should be identical (except for the serial number I guess). Now I don't know which BIOS is the correct one to flash.

My question is that should I be flashing the BIOS from my old motherboard onto my new motherboard? They are the same model motherboard, just different memory and CPU. Or can the broken BIOS on my new motherboard be repaired? I appreciate any advice.

Summary of BIOS Whitelist Removal Problem

        Problem:
I am attempting to remove the WWAN card whitelist from my Lenovo ThinkPad T560.
        Initial Findings:
        • My current BIOS version is N1KET58W (1.45).
        • I have a CH341A programmer and have successfully created two full backups of my BIOS.
        • I have the ability to use command-line tools on a Linux machine.
        Troubleshooting Steps & Conclusions:
        • I attempted to use several automated and manual patching methods on my N1KET58W (1.45) BIOS, including using hex strings. These attempts all failed.
        • I concluded that the

Lenovo Yoga X1 Gen4 - Faulty Bios or what is going on?
        by AYsys
        Hello dear forum members,

I own two Lenovo Yoga X1 Gen 4 laptops. One of them had a touchscreen problem, and I tried to fix it by externally flashing the BIOS. Unfortunately, I didn’t save the original BIOS and accidentally flashed it with a faulty one. After that, the device stopped working completely.

I then had the idea to make a BIOS backup from the other Yoga X1 Gen 4 (same hardware) and flash it onto the non-working device.
Nothing was flashed here — the BIOS was only backed up.

I created the backup using a CH341A Black programmer and NeoProgrammer....

lenovo flex 5 14ITL05 bios and motherboard fault
        by claws77
my laptop is lenovo flex 5 14ITL05

recently my power supply for this laptop developed a fault.
which caused a short in my usb c port -- verified with a new charger.

rant: so, i went to the repair tech in my country, he asked for a huge repair cost when i decided to get it done someplace else this "great person" nicked my bios chip, asked me to be aware for repair scams lol.
I was stupid and unable to find the flaw at the moment. Another repair tech told me that my bios chip was stolen and an 8mb bios chip is in place of that. he told me that a 32...

Asus ROG Strix Scar G533qm with a G733qm Motherboard, can I modify the Bios to accept G533 Bios
        by glovecaps
        Hello,

I have a Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 (G533QM) that had a dead motherboard (Graphics card dead) and after trying to fix the motherboard with no success, I bit the bullet on a sale for a new motherboard. I ordered a motherboard for the 15 inch model which is the one that I have, and when the motherboard arrived it wasn't for a little while that I saw it was from the 17 inch model.

My question is, can I update the Bios on this G733 motherboard to a G533 Bios.

The reason for wanting to do this is that the keyboard isn't working as it should, and I think this...

Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 (serial number: MP2BFZEF) bios request
        by Wahaz
        Hello,

I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
So I thought it was a Bios problem.
I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....
