Will try it later. Did DMI data get preserved? SN and stuff?

Yes you got this error because didn't reset security options to default on very first boot.
Write this main bios now and enter this DMI data:

                        With HP DMI Tool NBDmiFit

Read here how to use it : https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...ifit#post63219

...or from Windows you can use this tool from HP : https://ftp.ext.hp.com/pub/caps-soft...it/HP_BCU.html

I prefer this second method...watch here a tutorial : https://youtu.be/kQJuJZNOuXg?si=cfsrCtU8YT6KqrT4 and you can skip the partsurfer part because I give you all the information you need.

                        Good Luck !

It starts normal without error and asks for POST password.. like I flashed back original file.

Then the EC chip content is not patched...probably you wrote back the original...
Use the shiyabs EC content from post #7 and the last main bios I provided and then there will be no password anymore.
I made a lot of HP 840 G5 G6 G7 with this method and always had worked from first attempt (with or without Endpoint Security error...)

OK, will try that later. Thnx for now.

Funny thing that happened yesterday, I got main bios from a friend, flashed it and password was gone. But bios acted weird, I could enter bios, change setting, but when I wanted to add admin and POST password it would accept input but after restart it would not ask for that new password, it would just continue to Windows.. I didn't want to bother and I continue with Win install and stuff. After like 20-30 reboots.. it went back to lock state. wtf?

                                      Hey.. update..

I did flash files as you mentioned and I got error again..

                                      Procedure I did:

                                      1. flashed both eeprom and solder them
                                      2. first boot - trying to enter bios - got error "Endpoint Security controller problem" - don't let me to bios (in bottom left corner says "Entering bios..") - notebook reboots..
                                      3. second boot - same as first
                                      4. third boot - shows error "Endpoint Security controller problem" but after pressing OK it lets me to bios, reset security to default and bios to default..
                                      5. after exiting bios shows error again but it boots to Windows
                                      6. later entered bios and disable everything regarding security: TPM, Secure boot, HP Sure secure, all related to security and now it doesn't show error "Endpoint Security controller problem" (don't know if this is smart)

                                      Regards

I did flash files as you mentioned and I got error again..

                                        Procedure I did:

                                        1. flashed both eeprom and solder them
                                        2. first boot - trying to enter bios - got error "Endpoint Security controller problem" - don't let me to bios (in bottom left corner says "Entering bios..") - notebook reboots..
                                        3. second boot - same as first
                                        4. third boot - shows error "Endpoint Security controller problem" but after pressing OK it lets me to bios, reset security to default and bios to default..
                                        5. after exiting bios shows error again but it boots to Windows
                                        6. later entered bios and disable everything regarding security: TPM, Secure boot, HP Sure secure, all related to security and now it doesn't show error "Endpoint Security controller problem" (don't know if this is smart)

                                        Regards
Disabling everything security related setting is not recommended...
I made a new (last attempt) bios pack with EC and MAIN.
Try to flash just the main maybe works because the EC is the same.
At first boot enter to Security settings and reset to default. Very important!
                                        Then enter DMI data.

Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.

Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...

                                          Hello,

I'm using TONGFANG "GM7TG7P" model laptop for over 3 years and i'm entering the same bios administrator password everyday. My laptop has Aptio BIOS (American Megatrends, AMI).

But today it's not accepting my password. I'm %100 sure i'm entering the correct password.

I'm trying to reset my bios without success.

                                          I tried :

-I removed the BIOS battery and main battery. Waited for a long time but it didn't work. They already stated in the user manual that the password will not be reset even if the batteries...

Hello everyone, I come here to tell you my problem regarding the power-on password. It is not a bios reset demand, and i can't have any access to windows. This is the bios and power-on password that is blocking all other things.

My Omen 15-dh0052nf purchased second-hand was configured with the bios password upon purchase (very simple password :P ).

Having decided to sell it in order to get something more powerful, I reset all BIOS settings and set a blank administrator password. But the power-on password cannot be changed to a blank one so I let the actual password set....
