Asus UX3402 / Q409Z - No sound, no TPM, Boot issues: Bios flash?

I got an Asus UX3402 / Q409Z and after a BSOD I lost sound, tpm 2.0, and if it turns off it can take HOURS before I can boot again.

Reading here and on reddit I figured its a BIOS issue, and that reflashing it may fix the problem.

I want to use an CH341A (new model with 3.3v) to flash it.

My problem is that I'm not sure if the SOIC8/SOP8 clips will attach to the chip and hold properly? (haven't opened my laptop yet, I'm basing this assumption on a picture from the same thread I attached).

Any tips on how to connect to it? Maybe something like these or these? My soldering skills are bad

I had the same problem with the Q409Z. No sound and taking a long time to turn on after an automatic Windows update.
The method to resolve this is to rewrite the bios, use the file below that I will be making available, Clear ME, FastBoot.


Try soldering the bios IC like this. REMEMBERING that you will need to ground the center of it.

It's been a while and I didn't have the time to do this yet.

I got a bios dump using AfuWin64, and attached it here. I hope this is enough to create a clean BIOS to fix my issues (No sound, no TPM, Boot issues). I also hope that due to not having TPM I could maybe flash it either through Windows or Linux? Maybe I'm too wishful.

Anyway, with a clean BIOS file, I can go to a shop to burn it to the chip, but I couldn't find one to do the cleaning part. If a full dump from a reader is needed, I will look harder for a way to get that.

I also don't know my BIOS password so if that can be cleaned as well. My local authorized Asus repair center (that said I must replace my motherboard for a new laptop price...) changed it
