Hello everyone, I have a Gateway GWTN156-5BK that a friend just gave me, it turned on normally but a message always appeared complaining about corrupted fTPM nv, I always select the option to keep that data and continue, but today out of curiosity I simply selected the option to clear fTPM data and next to that my laptop turned off and I couldn't turn it back on, I cleaned a CMOS by removing the battery but it didn't work, the laptop doesn't even turn on the fan. I suspect that the BIOS was corrupted in some way, if anyone knows how to solve that problem or can help me with a BIOS dump for this laptop model I would greatly appreciate it.

SMDFlea sorry for the late reply, I was downloading the software of my programmer and my internet is so slow, I can only give you the serial number because my programmer was unable to read the BIOS chip it says the drive does not respond, seems like it is damaged and I'm sure that I didn't damaged it because I was very gentle when I was unmounting it from the board, and I don't think that it is a problem of my programmer because it can read other chips normally, it is a RT809H

Hello everyone, today I was able to make the laptop work with the GWTN156-4GR BIOS, it is a similar model of laptop, I had to take the BIOS chip of a Lenovo Yoga 2 since the laptop chip got damaged, I programed it with the new BIOS an solder it into motherboard, the laptop was able to turn on but if I unplug the carger it becomes unable to turn on again, would it be a problem of compatibility of the BIOS or chip compatibility problem?
The BIOS chip I'm using is 25B64BSIG

Update, actually tried with two different BIOS, the GWTN156-4GR and GWTN156-11BK, both had same behavior, laptop turn on only the first time after BIOS install, then it only turn on randomly, it is almost unable to boot windows and the few times i could reach the Windows desktop it goes black screen suddenly but laptop keeps powered, otherwise it always reboot when triying to boot Windows ang got stuck in Gateway logo.Comment

Last update, this will sound stupid, but I was flashing the wrong chip all this time, I removed the spi memory from the EC, I actually found the real BIOS chip and flashed it with the GWTN156-4GR BIOS, it's actually the same thing. instead of 16 GB of RAM, it will be reduced to 8 GB, I was actually lucky because if I had flashed the BIOS of the GWTN156-11BK my laptop would probably be fried since mine is AMD and the 11BK is Intel. In any case, I think that my BIOS is not corrupt, I am suspecting that the problem is the ITE8987E since the problems that the laptop is presenting are related to the function that it performs, therefore I will upload the dump of my original BIOS since it probably does not is corrupt and I will close this postComment

by FalconPunchHello everyone, I happen to have a Microsoft Surface Pro X 1876 in my hands. It was brought to me by a friends which happen to have taken off the bios chip to test another motherboard. Upon putting back the bios chip on the original motherboard, The PC is stucked on Windows logo and won t boot to bios or anything. I suspect that the changes of bios chip somehow corrupted the firmware inside. Is the hypothesis correct?
Also i extracted the bios inside the chip which was on Winbond 25R128JWPQ you can find the file attached if you can fix it (if possible, I would like some insight on...-

by macabookHello everyone,
I’m currently working on a dead MSI GP75 Leopard (MS-17E71) motherboard (i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU) with a no display/no backlight issue initially. After extensive investigation, I’m at a critical stage involving EC firmware, BIOS/ME region interaction, and possible deep corruption. I'm seeking advanced insight from anyone with experience in EC/BIOS sync issues or PCH-level behavior. Here’s a full breakdown:
🧩 Initial Issue- Board powers on (fans spin, keyboard lights up and can be adjusted, caps lock led lights), but no display or backlight

by grimacelordHello there.
I am working on a Lenovo Legion T5-26AMR5 desktop that currently has a corrupt BIOS and I have been unsuccessful thus far in trying to fix it myself.
History:
1. This computer came to me initially with an error message that said "BiInitializeLibrary failed 0xc0000001" or "0135 fan error". It would always be one of the two errors. It should be noted that when it produced the fan error, there was no physical problem with the fans. They were all spinning just fine.
I searched for this error online and discovered...-

by TylerHyde21Hello, the bios on my Lenovo TD350 ThinkServer got corrupted during a bios update, the bios restore function killed the Server.
I need to flash the bios inside the MX25L12835F SOP8, i have already desolder the chip and solder it into my SOP8 adapter and read it with a ROM programmer.
I use the innoextract 1.9 software to extract the bios file from the .exe file that i download from lenovo website, can you help me edit the Hex file (removing the Index part and resize the file)?
This guy claim to have done it https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkSe...doesnt-Start-u...-
