    Compaq NC6400 bios problem?

    With respect to speedypro I decided to create my own thread.

    I programmed bios chip of this laptop compaq nc6400 a while ago. First boot no display, turned off and rebooted again luckily it displayed and indicated that something was changed and offers me to save changes. But I didn't attached any keyboard so I decided to press power button to turn it off. When I attach usb keyboard then turned on laptop and poof no display again.

    I just wanted to know if bios is a goner. Prior to that this laptop is working 2 days ago. and then this morning it just won't display anymore even externally. That is why I decided to flash bios. I noticed that cmos battery is low so I replaced it same thing happens. I don't think video chip is involve because it was well ventilated heatsink is not clogged. What do you guys think? Thanks everyone

    Unplug both the CMOS and main battery and leave disconnected for a few minutes. Plug CMOS then main battery back in and try again.

    It is generally not a good idea to try to flash a bios to a system having problems, but at this point repeating the battery disconnect, reconnect, and power on cycling a few times seems like the best chance.

      okay man,

      does it has discrete Nvidia chip?? if so try to reflow it at the beginning.
      if still same then replace the bios chip with a new one.

        @9

        I usually fix laptop with no display using bios programming. I didn't thought that was bad. When this laptop came it has no power. I disassembled it and clean the board. I ran it outside the case and displayed successfully for 2 days. I knew the cmos battery is out but did not replaced it immediately. So now when I was booting it up to install fresh OS nothing appeared. It booted once after I flashed bios with file coming from hp website.

        @microbe

        I verified that video chip is Intel because I cannot see any ATI markings on all chips, And also I did see 945 markings on the chip beside processor socket. I'm looking for new bios chip here in my country but I cannot see one. I can only find on ebay and it is already programmed.

          For the record I fixed this laptop by flashing bios. Attached bios file for future reference. Thanks!

            Problem with PANASONIC CF53 laptop after changing BIOS settings
            by AquaMan Ua
            Hello. I am asking you for a hint on how to solve the problem with my touchbook Panasonic CF53-2 standart model. After setting up the BIOS, the laptop displays the wrong image until Windows loads. (More precisely, it displays, but distorted, instead of the Panasonic image immediately after turning it on, it displays what is in photo #1 in the attached file) Then the image appears when Windows starts loading and then there are no problems with the screen until the reboot. If you enter the BIOS, just a black screen. If you connect an external screen, the image on it is the same as on the built-in...

            TONGFANG "GM7TG7P" Bios Password Problem?
            by traxformania
            Hello,

            I'm using TONGFANG "GM7TG7P" model laptop for over 3 years and i'm entering the same bios administrator password everyday. My laptop has Aptio BIOS (American Megatrends, AMI).

            But today it's not accepting my password. I'm %100 sure i'm entering the correct password.

            I'm trying to reset my bios without success.

            I tried :

            -I removed the BIOS battery and main battery. Waited for a long time but it didn't work. They already stated in the user manual that the password will not be reset even if the batteries...

            Macronix MX77L12850F

            I am having some problems with the BIOS of my Versapro PC-VRT42FBFR22B.

            I extracted the BIOS file (versapro001.bin 16MB) from PC-VRT42FBFR22B ROM (MX77L12850F) using CH341A and NeoProgrammer V2.2.0.10, but I don't know how to remove the BIOS password, so I can't open the BIOS even if I boot with F2.

            I also downloaded the BIOS update package (933A0400.zip) for PC-VRT42FBFR22B from the official...
