    ASUS M3401QA BIOS request

    Hi,

My M3401QA does not power on properly: no display (all black) and with white LED charging port blinking slowly (once every ~3 seconds).
Checked several points across the board and supplies are up and running but I need to double check when I get schematic.
Result is still the same even with DC jack inserted and battery connector removed.

Tried flashing the latest BIOS as of this date to no avail which I suspect has something to do with DMI but tools could not run properly on my machine and couldn't find manual copy of DMI through hex editor and not sure about the addresses involved, sorry.
Please see attached zip for the BIOS dump before I flashed the latest manufacturer BIOS (*.bin).

Looking forward for some assistance if someone can provide the new BIOS with DMI and other information required I may not be aware of. thank you.

    Cheers!

        Hi All,

I tried downloading the ASUS EZ flash version 308 -> extract to binary -> remove addr 0x00000000 to addr 0x000007FF -> and copy address 0x00021000 to 0x00030FFF from M3401Q_Read_05172024.bin (which I assumed to be the DMI) over to the version 308 binary. I then flashed the modified version 308 but the laptop does not boot up still.
        attaching the modified version 308.
Can anyone help where I might've gone wrong here? Thank you

              Hi hoaca388,

I believe this is the default BIOS from Asus website EZ flash version without the 0x00000000 to addr 0x000007FF, correct? I've tried flashing but result is still the same.

              Hi Luke11037 ,

Mine blinks at a very slow rate (few seconds white LED on, few seconds off, then repeat), so it's the latter in your description.
Could you share the boardview too? is it specific to M3401QA?
Quite unlucky I can't run openboardview on my two other machines so far.

                Good evening to all,

My laptop is having issues and as far as I can read, some form of BIOS flashing could resolve the issue. The laptop is not booting, tried battery reset, etc. Power LED is on, the battery LED is flashing slowly.

Good day, my laptop's bios got corrupted after windows update. I tried reflashing it via Ezflash however, it worsened the problem and now it wont turn on. I search for fix in asus but wont work. i dont have the dump file. My laptop won't display anything and no fan when I press the power button. Can someone please share their BIOS BIN so I can reprogram mine. Thank you so much for the help.

The serial number in the QR code is MB47NBCX00V7HDMB ,different to the one you posted, so it`s either had a replacement motherboard or the base cover is from another laptop. Try the attached bios .

With ASUS, not everything is quite so simple. I will show you my way. It may be longer or harder but it is the right way to do it in my humble opinion.

For example, you can have 3 similar ASUS motherboards, all being the same model, all of which will have different BIOS versions.

I will give you an example and my version of preparing BIOS from ASUS website and in the process I am always cleaning Intel ME while doing it so you have fully cleaned BIOS, no DMI data, no password, nothing.

This is the picture of 3 similar ASUS motherboards, all of them being X555LD...

Hi, my laptop wont boot at all
With original bios no POST, only LED lights
With alternative BIOS from model TP500LN (flashed via programmer) the notebook works again
                                        Some issues
                                        A- with bios from 500LN, it won't update from bios of model 500LA (from 500LN v203 to 500LA v300)
B- If updated from 500LN version 203 to 300, the battery stops being recognized

                                        Things I tried

1- Update / clear ME: Took the non working bios, made a backup, and did this: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...theory/trouble...

Hi all, I've spent the past week digging through the forums and guides to try correct my foolish mistake of changing hidden settings while tinkering around, and to be honest my heads overloaded so I'm hoping you'll be able to help.

I used a tool called 'Smokeless-UMAF' to access usually hidden settings in the bios. I tweaked one or two 'safe' things but made the mistake of tweaking a lot of settings under 'USB/Thunderbolt Configurations' when I didn't know what they did. For...

                                        Hi there,

I know there is somebody who can tell me what is happening with my laptop. For start, it is an asus vivobook s510ua with an asustek x510ua motherboard with an intel i5 7200u cpu and 16gb ram.. i have a screenshot from speccy before strange things started.. as you can see the laptop type and bios version x510ua.302.I don’t manually update the bios because i don’t like to having a bricked bios, i know what troubles that gives..

I did a fresh win 11 install, and after the automatic updates, windows rebooted and automatically started asus ez flash.....
