Thanks for that dj_ricoh. Are these just ordinary I2C or SPI programming of EEPROM chips ( 8 pin ) ? I do a lot of microcontroller work, so I probably can conjure up something to do the job ( even have SO8 clips ).

8 pin spi mostly. Voltage is either 3.3v or 1.8 so you might need to build a level shifter, or buy a programmer and 1.8v adapter. If you use a sop8 clip or solder wires to the chip the motherboard will need power to it.
