Asus ROG GA503RS - No display after BIOS

    Hi,

I've got a problem with laptop Asus ROG GA503R, laptop power on (it does take a while) show asus logo and then it stuck on the black screen noticed that laptop goes to windows. I've tried new LCD, no difference, I can go to BIOS, laptop would stay on can change options etc., tired boot it externally with disconnected LCD and it only display on BIOS, attempt to boot to Linux, same problem.

I would provide with board model tommorow.

              Hi everyone,

Have a ASUS GA503RS, it turns on, but after showing the logo the screen stays black. :-/
No success trying another screen, no external image either.

So after reading this thread and seeing similar issues being fixed with a BIOS flash, I would give this a try.

Have a CH341 programmer and can solder pretty well.

              Details on the device:
              ASUS GA503RS-LN055W
              SN: N6NRCX076422248
              MB: DANJPMB3AA0 REV:A

The BIOS chip is a Winbond 74M25JWEIO, my research shows it is a 1,8V powered chip, 256Mbit in size.
My NeoProgrammer software has a W25Q256JW chip with 1,8V listed, I assume I can use those settings
              to read and write.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Post moved to RS thread from RM . Yes, you can choose the winbond chip manually. Post your backup here

                        🛠️ MSI GP75 Leopard MS-17E71 – No Display, Deep BIOS/EC Troubleshooting
                        by macabook
                        Hello everyone,

I’m currently working on a dead MSI GP75 Leopard (MS-17E71) motherboard (i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU) with a no display/no backlight issue initially. After extensive investigation, I’m at a critical stage involving EC firmware, BIOS/ME region interaction, and possible deep corruption. I'm seeking advanced insight from anyone with experience in EC/BIOS sync issues or PCH-level behavior. Here’s a full breakdown:
                        🧩 Initial Issue
                        • Board powers on (fans spin, keyboard lights up and can be adjusted, caps lock led lights), but no display or backlight
                        • External display (HDMI) shows
                        ...

With ASUS, not everything is quite so simple. I will show you my way. It may be longer or harder but it is the right way to do it in my humble opinion.

For example, you can have 3 similar ASUS motherboards, all being the same model, all of which will have different BIOS versions.

I will give you an example and my version of preparing BIOS from ASUS website and in the process I am always cleaning Intel ME while doing it so you have fully cleaned BIOS, no DMI data, no password, nothing.

This is the picture of 3 similar ASUS motherboards, all of them being X555LD...

ASUS TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI - BIOS Help
                        by grimacelord
                        Hello,

I have spent the last hour on this and I guess this is just over my head, so here I am.

I have an ASUS TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI motherboard here that needs to have the BIOS updated in order to accept the latest CPUs.

The BIOS chips seem to come as a set of two: GD25B64ESIG and GD25B128ESIG. My guess is one of them is a fail-safe for the main BIOS? I really don't know. Or one of them is ME and other is BIOS? I don't know.

Anyway, I took dumps of both chips and then downloaded the latest update for this motherboard from ASUS's website...

                        ASUS TP500LA BIOS request/repair/merge?
                        by jbonavita
Hi, my laptop wont boot at all
With original bios no POST, only LED lights
With alternative BIOS from model TP500LN (flashed via programmer) the notebook works again
                        Some issues
                        A- with bios from 500LN, it won't update from bios of model 500LA (from 500LN v203 to 500LA v300)
B- If updated from 500LN version 203 to 300, the battery stops being recognized

                        Things I tried

1- Update / clear ME: Took the non working bios, made a backup, and did this: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...theory/trouble...

                        SF314-41 BIOS without internal display
                        by lanovey
                        Hello there,
I have a SF314-41 motherboard that i bought impulsively recently, the problem is that i only bought the motherboard only, nothing else. When i tried powering on the board with 19V (soldered on the DC IN port), and then shorting the pin 1-2 of the keyboard, the board is turning on (as indicated by the fan), however it seems like the board is displaying on the internal display as connecting to a display on the HDMI (external) does not display anything.
I tried connecting a USB keyboard, the keyboard is powered on, however pressing numlock do nothing (supposed to toggle...
