need bios for gateway GWTN156-3BK

There is a laptop Gateway GWTN156-3BK that does not show a picture when turned on, the fans are spinning. Suspicion of a faulty BIOS. Can anyone share the BIOS dump?

The dump was taken from the laptop using a clothespin and CH341 programmer using NeoProgrammer 2.2.0.10

unfortunately there is no image output, and no via hdmi either.

possible bios is cropped or posibale other hardwear issue
since getaway donst provide any bios file on its support we can find another working bios
post your mother board part number we will try to get a third party working bios for you

I checked your and the previous BIOS dump, unfortunately there is no result. Can you explain what kind of DMI data this is and what should I do with it?

possible you dont have an bios issue in your board it could be a hardware issue

DMI means information of your laptop like your serial number your windows license key etc etc .

When plugged in the laptop battery charging light flashes, and that's the only sign of life. No screen backlight and no fans.

I flashed all of the fix attempts on this site (post 1 and post 2) with no improvement, except the one from this post (by volinakis). Now if I hold the power button down for a few seconds, both fans spin for a split second and turn off. No other signs of life.

I cant find any official bios on Gateway website.

I found a post on reddit where someone found that the bios for the same hardware, but with XMG Core 15 branding, worked. I don't know if that would help any.

MODEL: Gateway GWTN156-3BK (I think the "BK" just denotes the color as black.)

Yes, I have. Same result: Battery charge flashes and that's it.

I saw ON REDDIT that you could use the bios from a XMG Core 15 (TongFang GK5MR0O), but it is only 13,312kb and the Bios file from my laptop and posted on BadCaps is 16,384kb. Maybe that can help you?

I cannot find the stock bios anywhere. Gateway doesn't even have the file on their site.

Note the warnings:

I wouldn’t flash the EC as it maps a different layout of Media keys and the EC remapped that on me, so FN-F11 Brightness Down now toggles airplane mode. There is not currently a known download of either the Gateway BIOS or EC so their isn’t a way yet to go back. It also remapped the ‘Profile’ button to a Fan Boost toggle which I actually prefer.

Also, Flashing the BIOS will change your splash screen to XMGs instead of Gateways.

Proceed with caution and at your own risk.
