NEED BIOS Lenovo Thinkpad P17 Gen 2
Type 20YV
PF3Z5XZB

just the light flashing when plugging in the charger.
Test without cmos : no fan, no boot, nothing.
motherboard alone.
No results.
charging light present

Maybe it comes from the bios.
Do you have any opinions to help me?

3.18v on Power BTN, which goes to zero when pressed
3.24v on Bios chip

It is complicated to take time to repair this type of machine.
My boss prefers to put this straight in the trash.



I found the Fl1 and 2 files but
I don't really know where to cut them i have to compare them when I have the reading.

if you are talking about BIOS REGION than delete block 0 TO 320 from top




than select offset from 0 TO 1000000 (0 to 1000000 is your new 16mb bios region)

I wonder if it's because of the bios. My computer works everything normally, but when I open a large file (for example, an excel file of about 8M), I can't open the file. The cpu temperature is ~ 100 degrees Celsius and the fan is spinning loudly. ,, just close the open file and the computer is normal again, opening small files is normal,, I replaced the hard drive, replaced the ram, installed Windows but it's still the same.

Hi all!

I have a Lenovo P17 Gen2
Type 20YU-003HUS
Serial # PF3S0LF3

Boot / Setup password was changed and fat-fingered, so now I can't get into the machine.

I have an SVOD4 programmer and Software version 0.0.5.9 date 17.03.2025. I managed to read my BIOS, dump it to a file twice and verify, then edit per instructions demonstrated on YT: (https://youtu.be/pEy-XZLU5bA?si=B4sZ6d0MSqqLHNvK).

HOWEVER, when I write the edited file and try to boot, I get the POST errors:

0271: Check Date and Time settings. (Yeah, that's expected)
0251: System CMOS checksum bad - Default configuration used. (Roh-roh...)
0177: Bad SVP data. Stop POST task. (GAH!)
Configuration changed - Restart the system.

The system never restarts - it gets stopped at the Bad SVP data - stop POST message.

I re-wrote the original dump back to firmware, and I'm at least booting back to the BIOS/Setup Password prompt, so I know it's got to be my edits. It would help if I knew WTH I am doing, but I'm an idiot.

Any help with fixing this file for me would be greatly appreciated. I'm attaching my original dump file, and my edited file for reference. My edits were done in UltraEdit, if that matters.

post merged...next time look for a thread with the name and model, motherboard model of the laptop, and post there, if you can't find it, then make a new thread..
