        HP 245 G8 Notebook PC (34Q11ES)

There are 2 different bios updates at HP support, the first one is not yours as that is SSID 8908 ,and your bid is BID085B1. The second bios update "HP Notebook System BIOS Update (AMD Processors)" has your bios inside it.

Click image for larger version Name:	Two different bios versions.jpg Views:	0 Size:	24.7 KB ID:	3335349

The bios can be extracted using the guides at post 2 ,run the exe first and if it gives you the option to save to a location do that, otherwise it will need extracting using AMIUCP. There are 3 different bios updates in the exe , @R00 ,@R01 and @R02 .Its @R02 that is BID085B1

Your DMI. Copy it using a hex editor from your old bios to the new one

        DMI 283000 - 283FFF

        KEY 2A5000 - 2A503F

Help Disabling Flash Protection Range Registers on Lenovo P360 Tiny BIOS
                  by abhorsen
                  Hey guys,

Hope you all are doing well. I come here from Win-Raid because I am having issues disabling Flash Protection Range Registers so I can flash my BIOS from within Windows using Intel's IFW tool/using flashrom within Linux, however I cannot due to the above mentioned error.

Here is my thread on Win-Raid detailing the whole process I went through: https://winraid.level1techs.com/t/re...h-gen/95478/27

Essentially I managed to boot into Windows while shorting PINs 1+5 of my audio chip to disable the HAP bit...

Dell Optiplex 7010 micro bad BIOS flash?
                  by mrrubik
                  Hi folks,

I got a Dell Optiplex 7010 micro PC (Exact Model) with 8FC8 BIOS and locked out admin password. I attempted to remove the password by patching the BIOS via info from this thread: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...ssword-patcher
After flashing the patched the BIOS, the PC is unresponsive with a solid AMBER power LED (not documented in manual anywhere)

                  Steps I took:
                  1. Read BIOS with CH341a, verified hash twice
                  2. Patched
                  ...

Panasonic CF-20G0247VM BIOS Bad Flash Help
                  by James Jackson
I usually try to figure these things out on my own but am asking for help now as I have been beating my head against a wall.

Backstory, I initially ended up with a CF20 Mk2 with a locked BIOS. I used aptio to read the BIOS and made the adjustments to the .rom file and attempted to write it back with aptio before reading other users problems with that setup. Well it bricked the BIOS go figure. Computer no longer boots, black screen. I found a clean BIOS on this forum but now I am having ME issues. So I would rather hand over the aptio dump(pre BIOS brick) and a hardware reader dump(post...

Request: SPI Flash BIOS Dump (Winbond 25Q128) for Dahua NVR4216-4KS2
                  by spmetroil
                  Hello,

I am trying to repair a Dahua NVR4216-4KS2 that is not booting.
The main BIOS/firmware is stored in an SPI flash EEPROM (Winbond 25Q128, labeled as U130 on the PCB).

I have a CH341A programmer and I already attempted the following steps:
                  1. Identified the correct chip (W25Q128, 3.3V SPI flash).
                  2. Tried to read the contents with CH341A Programmer software. The dump seems corrupted and I often get the error: β€œChip with the contents are in disagreement.”
                  3. Compared several chip type selections (24Cxx and 25Qxx families) to confirm it is indeed a 25 series SPI
                  ...

Thinkpad t480s, completely dead after BIOS flash using CH341A programmer
                  by what_1282105
Following this guide (https://www.reddit.com/r/thinkpad/co...g_and_flashing) i re-flashed my t480s BIOS using an external (CH341A) programmer. The flash didnt work, so i reverted back to my BIOS backup successfully. The BIOS in the chip and the BIOS backup file are identical according to windows' file compare. The revert, however, didnt work: the only thing the computer does is flash the power button 3 times when AC power is connected. I've tried unplugging the CMOS battery, holding the reset button and holding down the power button- no signs of life....
