Hi,
I'm lost since RCUnlock doesn't seem to support 32mb dumps. I'm trying to remove the BIOS password.
I have attached the dumps from both the front (BIOS?) chip and back (EC?) chip, both 32mb.
I'm confused as to which one does what, and which to flash.
Some items show up in yellow or red in UEFITool. Unsure if that's important or means anything.
Here is laptop info:

Serial Number

Feature Byte
476J6S6b7B7H7M7Q7W7m7saBaEapaqauawbUcAdpdqeMfPgSguhKjhk8mEmVmwn7nVngpDpq.Aq
I have access to the BCU GetConfig file if that's any use.
Any help appreciated!Attached FilesPremium supporters get full download access and other benefits.

I previously took a BIOS chip from another laptop of the same model and tested it there, and most likely the EC is also faulty.
This laptop has a company lock. After connecting to the internet, I have to enter the company email or the security password.
Thanks a lot

I have flashed your file onto the rear chip, and left the front BIOS chip as is.
The screen stays black on boot, and the capslock and NumLock flash white 7 times.
The laptop doesn't boot. I have tried AC only, etc..
Do I need to flash the front BIOS chip too?
Kind regardsComment

Hello everyone,- I read the original BIOS dump using a programmer and immediately flashed it back to ensure the read was correct.
- Since the first programming cycle (read and write-back), the system no longer boots and LED errors, which suggests a corrupt or initialized ME region that was only triggered by the programming cycle itself.
- I attempted to clean the ME region myself by copying the ME region from another original dump. This attempt likely resulted in a hard brick, and the laptop no longer starts at all (no lights, no fan spin).
- Currently, the original dump (Main.bin) is back on the chip, but the system still does not boot; the LEDs briefly light up, turn off, and then light up again (indicating a non-passing POST).
My Data:- Laptop Model: HP EliteBook 850 G8
- Original ME Version: 15.0.50.2633
- Flash Image Tool: 15.0.23.1706
- SN: 5CG1311C6Z
Could someone please explain the cause and clear the ME of this BIOS file?Attached FilesPremium supporters get full download access and other benefits.

Hello guys,
Can you help unlock my HP Elitebook 850 G8 please?
I tried to remove ActiveReign in EC chip, that removed the password but I have an issue with Endpoint Security at boot. I don't have the solution.

Thank you!
try the endpoint script patcher - https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...security-error
I tried again and only removed ActiveReign in EC ROM. On the first boot I still had the Endpoint error, but I was able to access the BIOS setup, so I performed a security reset, and on the second boot I did a factory reset.
No more errors — it’s working now!
Thank you for your help

by zeniusHello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.
Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...-

by WutruHi guys,
If someone would be able to provide some expertise, I'd be very grateful.
BIOS Corruption - Cause
So I managed to corrupt my machine by installing linux and enrolling custom secure boot keys. I did choose to enroll the Microsoft keys as well, to prevent any potential bricking due to 3rd party drivers from HP being signed with those keys.
After doing that, and rebooting(it did boot, powerLED, fanspin etc.), the laptop did not give any video output on the LCD or video connectors. I think I was able to get in BIOS and trigger the beeper by pressing ESC....-

by STKR123Greetings badcaps community,
I havent done this for a long time and want to start it all again, after some evil and annyoing illness.
So I apologize in advance, if some phrases might sound a bit like gibberish or illogical to you.
Im trying my best to fully describe what I plan to achieve and hope I was choosing the right sub-forum for my new adventure.
I have a Elitebook 820 G1 and a Elitebook 840 G2 here.
These ask for a password when entering the BIOS, but boot just fine from the internal SSD.
I learned that desoldering...10-29-2024, 06:03 AM -
by macabookHello everyone,
I’m currently working on a dead MSI GP75 Leopard (MS-17E71) motherboard (i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU) with a no display/no backlight issue initially. After extensive investigation, I’m at a critical stage involving EC firmware, BIOS/ME region interaction, and possible deep corruption. I'm seeking advanced insight from anyone with experience in EC/BIOS sync issues or PCH-level behavior. Here’s a full breakdown:
🧩 Initial Issue- Board powers on (fans spin, keyboard lights up and can be adjusted, caps lock led lights), but no display or backlight
- External display (HDMI) shows
