Many people are having BIOS issues with Dell. I have a laptop that gives me a CMOS/Battery error. The Caps Lock key light stays on solid. 1 white light and 3 amber lights. I have RTC lines enabled, Battery OK, and a data loop in the CMOS. Its a Ryzen Machine

Try the bios at post 36 from hardware1 ,just enter the service tag at first boot https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...83#post3638983
If you want to copy the windows key from your backup to the new bios use a hex editor. Enter these start and end offsets into both C8A000 - C8A03F ,copy from the backup, paste into the new, that`s it.

Hello, SMDFLEA, thank you very much for responding to my questions. I did what you mentioned: I took the newBIOS from post #36, modified the Service Tag sector, and also copied the Windows key from my oldbios.bin and pasted the newbios into the address you gave us (C8A000 - C8A03F). I want to tell you that the process didn't work for me at first because it shows that the range of the hexadecimal address array is different, and I don't know if I'm doing something wrong. I've attached an image showing the problem I think I'm having. I'd appreciate it if someone could help me create the newBIOS and explain what my mistake was.

Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.
Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,... -

Hi, I hope some one has some advice for me. I searched the forums but didn't see anything relevant. I acquired two identical Dell 9010 Mid Tower computers from a business office upgrade (they were going to throw them out). Both of them have the same motherboard (00F82W). One of them works flawlessly. The other one had a corrupted BIOS. I tried flashing numerous main BIOS and EC files from the internet, but none of them worked. The Dell Inspiron 3480 I own (the all in one, not the laptop) is not wanting to turn on at all. It goes right to a dell logo, but it stays there forever with no other information on the screen. Holding the automatic Bios repair key combo (ctrl+esc) that should let it read a recovery file off a USB drive gets stuck on a black screen and does nothing. No amount of resetting anything so far has worked, and Dell's own support downloads have not really helped. Ive tried another BIN file I found online using my CH341A, and this got me slightly more, that time it displayed a loading bar that never moved...
