Problem with BIOS password for MSI GT73EVR

    Hi everyone,

I have a problem with my BIOS password on MSI GT73EVR Laptop (2017)
I forgot the password because I set it 3 years ago.
Probably the pass is an easy example, but I don't remember. passwords that I try:
    B10s-p4ss
    H3ll0-W0rld
    B10s-Ms1
    gt73-t1t4n
    etc...

    I tried this:
I opened the laptop and removed cmos battery, but password is persistent.
Then i used the CH341A programmer to extract the BIOS to find the key with UEFITool. (attached .bin in txt)
    Here the hex code:

    20 16 9D F6 72 33 EA 38 15 84 E1 5D B5 73 EB 74
    6B B7 82 9E 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
    00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 C6 90 59 A0 A3 4A FE 37
    B7 D6 CF 88 9B 13 D9 7E B4 CE B4 24 00 00 00 00
    00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
    01 00

    I have read this documentation.
    https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=103526

I try example for ASUS, HP and DELL this guide (but XOR calculator not work for this MSI)
    https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpo...55&postcount=2

    I am doing something wrong?

    and this post:
AMITSESetup Decryptor (I don't know Python, I don't understand why the script gives me an error)
    https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?p=1098223
    (I did not succeed)

I can't find exactly info for MSI and any solution shown there not work for me.

I ask for help, if someone can help me to solve the password.
    (Sorry for my bad English)

It's better to upload your backup bios here, and someone will try to decrypt it or remove it for you.

sharing my bios is not dangerous?
I mean posting the BIOS includes my hardware info or serial number

      But I'm not sure,
If I can solve it with XOR calculator, I prefer it
Also, if others fix it for me, then there will be no documentation of this problem.

        @adamantinus
Your password uses an unknown hash, it is not possible to compute it with the standard AMI_key = int("0x935b", 16)

          ok, good,thanks for the reply.

Is there a way to find out?
with brute-force tool or hidden in nvram? for example.

                Maybe it's a SHA-1 hash, 160-bit (20-hex bytes).

The file worked, thank you very much
so the solution was to write zeros to the hash on both nvrams.
                  not erase, just fill...
                  That's why I had a checksum error

                  now everything is solved!!

                    TONGFANG "GM7TG7P" Bios Password Problem?
                    by traxformania
                    Hello,

I'm using TONGFANG "GM7TG7P" model laptop for over 3 years and i'm entering the same bios administrator password everyday. My laptop has Aptio BIOS (American Megatrends, AMI).

But today it's not accepting my password. I'm %100 sure i'm entering the correct password.

I'm trying to reset my bios without success.

                    I tried :

-I removed the BIOS battery and main battery. Waited for a long time but it didn't work. They already stated in the user manual that the password will not be reset even if the batteries...

[REQUEST] Dell G3 3579 BIOS Password & AMI Protected Range/BIOS Guard Unlock
                    by zenius
Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.

Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...

Problem with PANASONIC CF53 laptop after changing BIOS settings
                    by AquaMan Ua
Hello. I am asking you for a hint on how to solve the problem with my touchbook Panasonic CF53-2 standart model. After setting up the BIOS, the laptop displays the wrong image until Windows loads. (More precisely, it displays, but distorted, instead of the Panasonic image immediately after turning it on, it displays what is in photo #1 in the attached file) Then the image appears when Windows starts loading and then there are no problems with the screen until the reboot. If you enter the BIOS, just a black screen. If you connect an external screen, the image on it is the same as on the built-in...

Should I buy a Lenovo Thinkpad E495 with bios password?
                    by RMDUiFT
Good day. I apologize if I posted this in the wrong topic. I saw somebody selling a Thinkpad E495 with a Ryzen 3500U CPU near me. In the pictures the laptop is running windows 10. I contacted the seller and asked a few questions about upgradability and if it has a bios password on it. He confirmed it has a bios password. I searched through the forum, I found a guide regarding removing the bios password using the autopatcher, I also found a thread with the e495 where people requested help with unlocking the bios password.

                    I have a few questions:
                    • If I would buy this laptop and have
