    Hello.
Have this MSI MS-16U11 that have not working 3.3/5V SUS when i found corroded pin 12 if ic which is VIN pin. After replace and repair of pin i have REGs, VIN, EN. But still only 0.9V on one and 0.01V on other

Guys i need help. what can be pulling down voltages on 3.3/5V line?
i have regs, when i push start button i get only 1.4V on 3.3V line and 0.9V on 5V line

no shorts on lines, nothing gets hot. looks like it something tells ic to make low voltages
gates on mosfets get normal pulsed signal

nothing gets hot, i replacec IC, replaced dual mosfets, but still low voltages

What do the LDO's measure? According to the datasheet, these are used internally in the IC for the drivers. They are only rated to 150ma, so doesn't take much to overload them. Any one of these being low could potentially affect the main outputs.

Failing that, this IC the outputs are preset with a max of 10% adjustment. Being that low, I'd be double checking the VBST1 and VBST2 components. But seems unlikely as both sides are affected.

I actually replaced a 51225 y'day on suspicion for a shutdown issue. The outputs all measured low. Put on another one and was ok (Aliexpress sourced chips). Maybe you have a bad IC. Check the boost capacitors PC97/98 as well.

i rplaced ic two times from two sellers. same results.

i noticed when start LDO 5V goes to 4.8V

              by rilley
              Hello everyone,
I am new into this, sorry to post it here. I want to make this as a pet hobby project, as this mac is not urgent.

              I have (Macbook Pro 13inch 2017mid) A1706 820-00923-A

My mac had liquid damage a long time ago, the connector from J8500 is damaged on pin 46 (PP5V_S0_ALSCAM_F), I guess the LCD/display panel is in short circuit, as I saw the connector from the LCD burned as well.

And the resistor L4004 is literally burned.

From what I see from the schematics, it does not affect any other rails, only the connection to the display...

MacBook A1989 overheating after liquid damage
              by Jenzo
              Hey everyone,

Had a MacBook pro 13" 2018 (A1989) come in for liquid damage. The only liquid damage was all around UB400. It was most likely soda, so there wasn't that much corrosion. I reflowed the UB400 and the QB chips with some flux, and replaced the caps/resistors that were in bad shape. Seemed to be working fine at first, but the next day when testing it again, the laptop charges and boots fine, the CPU would overheat, and U7210 would get to 70 degrees Celsius as well. I'm testing with only screen and battery connected at this point.

              I can't figure out how...

MacBook Pro 16 M1 Pro Liquid Damage (820-02100)
              by mitchw
Got a MacBook Pro M1 Pro 16'' to rescue immediately after liquid accident - I got it in less than 30 minutes after the spill.
It got spilled from behind when the laptop was closed. It mostly affected the rear of the mainboard and the bottom of the LCD.

I quickly took it apart and washed the liquid residue off the mainboard.
The area around the UP800 had some light corrosion, but it just washed away with some IPA. Other areas looked undamaged.

The mainboard got a thorough cleaning, as did the top case and LCD connectors / cables.

              Now the laptop...

got here a liquid damaged alienware

the laptop had damage in the area of the kb9542qf2 all sorted and now laptop working and turns on but i have no display

so if i start and connect usb-c display it works otherwise it is giving me the 2red and 7blue

so with the usb-c external monitor is getting to bios and OS

              otherwise not

so if it is in the os and i connect another lcd via onboard hdmi it is working no problem 2 lcds (1 usb-c + 1 hdmi)

but still not the internal monitor

              Lenovo IdeaPad 5 ITL05 | LA-K321P | Liquid Damage & No Charging
              by grimacelord
              Hello,

I have an LA-K321P board here that came to me for no power. Upon visual inspection of the board, I found some liquid damage around PQB13 area. Replaced PQB1, PQB2, and PQB13. Laptop will power on if the battery has a charge, but the computer will not charge the battery. USB Type C meter shows 20V being negotiated, but virtually zero amp draw (0.0100 at most that appears for a brief second about once every 5 seconds or so). Looking through thermal camera, UT1 (SN2001024YBGR) is getting hot. I have schematic, but no board view. Was hoping someone could help me get this charging...
