This is a SPI flash device.

So start with the vendor = 'MACRONIX' in the programmer s/w.

Then look for SPI style -> then the part number showing on the digikey webpage.

Can I use the bin file on the acer site for the 7750g?

It's sufficient I make a backup file (read and save in the sw neoprogrammer), so I erese the chip and then I copy the .bin file. Is it correct?

            I will suggest to:

            1) make a backup of your current flash chip for safety. do not lose this file.

            2) download the bios file from the Acer website for this model.

            3) erase the chip with your programmer. Confirm that the chip is erased with the programming software.

            4) then flash and verify the flash device with the acer bios image you downloaded from step # 2.

Post the names and size of each file you are referencing.

The correct one will match the size of the flash device you are using.

Use this file to reflash your memory device:

                    P5WE0121.bin 4096KB

                    See attached.

The density of the flash IC = 4M x 8 = 4096KB (kilobytes) which matches the above .bin file in size.

I reprogram the chip succesfully but nothing change. I would like to reprogram the EC chip also. I notice that the one i had bought it's a different model to the original (according to the schematic). Original is MX25L1005 and the one the shop sent me is MX25L1006E. Are they the same? (are they swithcable?). Where can I find a bin file for this chip? Thank you

Could be the K17C121C.ROM file 128KB taken from the Acer site? (it's in the same folder of the main bios chip)

I tried to reprogram the EC chip too with the K17C121C.ROM file ( i do the same procedure used for the .bin, is it correct?) but the result is the same. What do i have to do?
the cpu is hot, the fan is spinning but nothing on screen
                          Thank you

                            by bripoll
Hello, I have an Acer veriton n4670GT that, due to a fall to the ground, only started if I did a BIOS reset.
The power button ar ok, and when power off windows, then if press power button, this power on, but goes to boot loop, like press power button forever

It crossed my mind to try a BIOS update and when I finished it turned off and no longer starts in any way.
I have a flash programmer, but the file you download from the Acer website has a .CAP extension, it is not a .BIN

I have programmed it, but it still won't start, it is dead
                            Before programming...
