Clevo W25CEW doesn't save Bios settings / shutdown issue

    Hello together,

I have a Clevo W25CEW (Terra 1541) with some strange symptoms:

    1. I cannot save Bios settings by pressing "save settings" in the bios. By pressing "save & exit" it will save the settings.

    2. I can boot normally (UEFI installation), but when I shut the machine down and start it after a few seconds again it will show resume from hibernation and shutdown after POST, just before windows would boot. Then it will go back to factory settings and my UEFI installation will not boot!

Already changed the CMOS battery to a full one (3,177v) and the battery.
Latest bios was flashed by using DOS.
Changed CPU from i5-3230 to i3-3120.

Issue does not seem to happen with connected charger, just when botting from battery.

Any suggestions? Could it be a faulty EEPROM?

Also charge rate is shown, but not the discharge rate of the battery (HWInfo). So remaining time is also not shown.

Re: Clevo W25CEW doesn't save Bios settings / shutdown issue

This was seen a long time ago, it was almost always related to the cpu clock, to solve it a small Overcloking was done from the bios to the cpu (trial and error), it was increased by +1mhz until it stopped failing, nowadays I don't know if this is still working.
Another thing you can try is putting the processor that was changed and check if the failure persists, if this is solved could say 90% sure that it is a problem of cpu frequencies.
Also this error was given by not properly configure the bios, date, time, boot, etc. ...

Hmm right now it will keep the date and time but shutdown before windows boots and forget about UEFI...

Hi all, I've spent the past week digging through the forums and guides to try correct my foolish mistake of changing hidden settings while tinkering around, and to be honest my heads overloaded so I'm hoping you'll be able to help.

I used a tool called 'Smokeless-UMAF' to access usually hidden settings in the bios. I tweaked one or two 'safe' things but made the mistake of tweaking a lot of settings under 'USB/Thunderbolt Configurations' when I didn't know what they did. For...

Problem with PANASONIC CF53 laptop after changing BIOS settings
              by AquaMan Ua
Hello. I am asking you for a hint on how to solve the problem with my touchbook Panasonic CF53-2 standart model. After setting up the BIOS, the laptop displays the wrong image until Windows loads. (More precisely, it displays, but distorted, instead of the Panasonic image immediately after turning it on, it displays what is in photo #1 in the attached file) Then the image appears when Windows starts loading and then there are no problems with the screen until the reboot. If you enter the BIOS, just a black screen. If you connect an external screen, the image on it is the same as on the built-in...

Asus BIOS How To Reset To Default Settings?
              by YG007
Hello... Where do I start. I have 2 questions/scenarios that might bring this laptop back to life, so here it goes!

I have this laptop (Asus UX52VS) where I was flashing the BIOS to it and it froze during the process. I didn't have a reliable BIOS chip programmer at the time (It was a CH341A USB Programmer from Amazon where it took hours just to get the clamp on the chip and then every time I read, it gave me different results/corruption, and never would pass the verify test as no 2 reads were the same data), so I brought it to a shop. They had it for almost 2 months, but during...

Lenovo m90q gen 4 hidden BIOS settings.
              by Hinkz
              Hello All,

              I recently upgraded my Lenovo m920q to a m90q gen4 (13th gen intel).

I had much success following some very helpful guides on unpacking the m920q BIOS that Lenovo had on their website to find out hidden options such as cfg lock & overclocking lock, then using grub to change these settings.

I'm having much less success with the m90q gen4 and latest BIOS on the Lenovo website (https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/dow...tation-p3-tiny), when I unpack this BIOS and use UEFITool to browse its contents I can't seem...
