Hi all, I am working on an ASUS X510U with not display at all, motherboard X510UNR Rev: 3.0. The problem it came was that liquid spil on the keyboard only. I removed the motherboard & it was clean as ever. No spillage or corrosion on the MB. I am getting all the voltages 19V/3.3V/5V, +VCCCORE (0.8V) +VCCGT, Memory Voltages (1.2V) but still no display.. I can see it running in the background, in the start the LEDs in the display light up so there is 19v on the LCD backlight. I updated the BIOS first & then replaced with a known good LCD Screen, still the same, no image on external HDMI display too. LCD lid IC seems to be ok by using an external magnet. No Shorts of any kind. What will be the problem??? I a really curious what am I doing wrong or what did I not check, any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

With Asus, Always check powergood signals and you will find one of them not coming up. -
Re: ASUS X510U (MB X510UNR Rev: 3.0) not display at all
Thanks "mcplslg123"., do you know from which chip will the Powergood signal be generated or should I check this signal on any chip??? Schematic is not available so I have to trace it down this signal from the Boardview.Comment

Re: ASUS X510U (MB X510UNR Rev: 3.0) not display at all
"mcplslg123", I checked ALL_SYSTEM_PWRGD & PWRGD points on the motherboard & they all are fine & give out 3.2V. The CPU is operating well. I see the amp meter, its takes around .40 ~ .20 amps up & down. CPU get hot too & then the CPU fan runs to automatically when hot. What can be the problem??? now it become like a challenge to me. Any more tips will be greatly appreciated. Anything to check on the display connector to see what signal/voltage is missing??? ThanksComment

Link boardview if available. Check LPC bus/PCI CLK if you have DSO(With DMM not possible). Did you flashed bios with asus bios update?? If not then post your bios backup here so that it can be rebuild with asus update(if you dont know how to rebiuild it)Comment

Re: ASUS X510U (MB X510UNR Rev: 3.0) not display at all
mcplslg123 with this BIOS update "https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?p=1064984" the motherboard turns on, I can see the Keyboard Power LED lit, but the amps on the amp meter is stuck to 0.03, no movement at all & CPU is cold., With my previous BIOS file it would take around .40 ~ .20 amps up & down fluctating & the CPU gets warm & then fan turns on. I think that the re-build BIOS is not updated well.Last edited by mferna14; 08-17-2021, 03:32 PM.Comment

I put in a know good LCD Screen with LVDS Cable, replaced RTC battery, checked all voltages, & they are present., can you pls. give me some tips as of why I am not getting the display. And also enable and dim... There is a chance that you are getting display but you don't have backlight.Originally posted by PeteS in CARemember that by the time consequences of a short-sighted decision are experienced, the idiot who made the bad decision may have already been promoted or moved on to a better job at another company.Comment

Re: ASUS X510U (MB X510UNR Rev: 3.0) not display at all
Thanks for you replies... 1st answer to "mcplslg123", no display at all, I am just assuming that all is working in the background with my repairing experience of these ASUS motherboard. Still NO DISPLAY at all. 2nd "fauzanmint" I checked +3V_EDP on the LVDS socket, & 100% there.. no problems with this voltage. 3rd "Th3_uN1Qu3", I am surely getting 19v of backlight & I replaced it with another good LCD screen. & I even notice backlight comes up but still no image. I would appreciate if any more tips. Thanks all.Comment

Hello guys! I need a little help, I have one laptop for repair, it is an Aorus 17G YD, gaming laptop. Broken display, some cable ripped form daughter board connector, case broken, battery discharged and probably locked, etc. After I did the most tedious job I ever did on soldering back the broken cables (shielded cable) , I measured resistance on CPU and GPU core, 3 and 5 v ps and any coils I find on the board, everything seems to be fine. After I plugged the charger I don't get the power led light on from the charger connection maybe because the battery is locked , but on power button I have...

by amuse619Hello!
Looks like I fried something when my EDP cable got squeezed on the hinge. I replaced the cable but still no display. Laptop works fine with external monitor connected through HDMI and Display Port-USB C port. I took it apart and I see a burnt component. Can anyone help me identify what this component is? I tried to use schematics for another G15 but it does not match on the amount of pins and size. I attached pictures. The component has a label on it - (21A29)
