HP G62 star reverer - missing +V5A rail

    hello friends,

I have hp g62 Wont turn on.
    Some corrosion around PU850 (SN0608098RHBT)
    +V3.3AL OK
    +V5A is 0 volt.

    I've replaced PQ850 and PU850, no change.
There is no short to ground on the +5VA rail.
    Measurements I've taken:

    PU850 pins:

    Pin 26 (DRVH2 +V3.3AL_UG_20) = 3.5V
    Pin 25 (LL2 +3_3V_AL_PHASE_20) = 3.3V
    Pin 24 (VBST2 +3_3V_AL_VBST_20) = 8.4V
    Pin 23 (DRVL2 +V3.3AL_LG_20) = 0.9V

    Pin 15 (DRVH1 DHI) = 0V
    Pin 16 (LL1 +V5A_PHASE_20) = 0V
    Pin 17 (VBST1 +5VA_VBST_20) = 4.8V
    Pin 18 (DRVL1 +V5A_LG_20) = 0V

    EC_ALW_EN missing

    IT8502 vcc= 0v
    +V3.3S=0v
can any one help me urgently

Did you try to use laboratory power supply? How much Amps the motherboard is consuming?
Also do some elements are heating?

In this motherboard the +5alw are present only after pushing the power button.

        thanks all
No elements are heating or shorting.
IT8502 IO vcc= 0v how can i check missing volt?

I would check this area of board. I think this is an origins of +v3.3s voltage.

SN0608098 (PU11) is forming +v3.3al and then +v3.3s. Check there.

Do you have 7 pin LDO, 14 pin and 27 pin ENL voltages. System does not start without 13 and 28 PWGOD signals.

                pin 14 EN1=0v
                pin 27 EN2=5v
13&28=0vi only have enable and signals for 3.3v

EC_ALW_EN to pin 14 is going from EC.

Re: HP G62 star reverer - missing +V5A rail

AD_ID activates the charge control chip when the adapter is installed. Then the charging chip generates the signal AC_OK + 19V is supplied to the system. PU850 STBY chip generates +3.3 V LDO voltage. IO works, BIOS gets the program. It sends the signal to PU850 and output 3.3 VALW to 5VALW. PU850 pwrgood sends signal to IO. IO waits, the SYS opens when the POWER button is pressed.

Lowest possible resistance on laptop motherboard rail - Guide Table request
                      by Nagy Daniel
Hi, I'm Daniel, and I'm new to the world of repairing motherboards.

I would like to create a table, or more likely a guideline about the voltage rails and their possible resistance rail.

I know that the motherboard design has a very big depend on the rail's resistance, but I would like to know what is the smallest value for a rail that can be acceptable. For example, I heard that some new gaming motherboards can have 0,5 Ohm resistance on the GPU rail, but on an older type, it could be a sign of a shorted GPU rail.

So, I generated a table with AI so I can...

Samsung Chromebook Pro missing 1.2V power rail and no boot
                      by theflyingsquirrel
I am trying to repair my Samsung Chromebook Pro. There is no boot. Upon turning on, the screen is blank and there is no backlight. Power LED is blue. I tried refresh with power and esc refresh with power with no avail.

When I measure the 1.2V rail, it is pulsing. It will jump from 0 to 1.2V then 0 again. I replaced the 2 MOSFET and even power management IC and it is the same. Resistance from midpoint between mosfet to ground is 0.5 kOhm but it will show 250 Ohm first before jumping to 0.5 kOhm. So it feels like it was charging up some capacitor. Since MOSFET and IC was replaced, I...

Zotac gtx 1060 3gb missing one rail
                      by Grucha98
Hello everyone, i have zotac gtx 1060 3gb, and it has missing one rail. I think its 1v but I'm not sure. This rail has 34 Ohms, but after test on on my testbench, it drops to 2ohm, after some time it back to 34 Ohms. Next to this coil is up1727q. And there are 3,3 on vin pin and 5v on vdd pin. I changed this chip with another one but it didnt help. When i tried Short circuit test, core didnt heat up so maybe its still alive. I dont have thermal camera :/. I dont have boardview and schemstic for this GPU too. What should i check next? Or maybe its just dead core?

Surface pro 5 (Model 1726) missing 3.3V power rail
                      by noflux
                      Hello All

Have a Surface pro 5. Main board model; M1007506-015. Main 15v power rail is present.

                      1st image;
Missing 8v rail at inductor (circled in blue). Suspect main cause is power is being drawn at dead short on C4517.

                      2nd image;
3.3v rail was measured at 0.17v (at top most capacitor with red cross in 1st image).

Capactors crossed out in red are shorted.

Are the 5v and 3.3V rails tied in somehow e.g. generated at a single IC?

                      2nd and 3rd image;
C4517 circled in red is shorted at pin...
