Macbook A1466 trackpad flash ROM burned

    Hello

Trackpad and keyboard not working... a close up shows this IC (: Serial Flash memory) burned

Is it a direct replacement job after buy? or it needs to be programmed after... since it is a flash menory...?
Maybe available in another donor motherboard non apple, even if it is not same size package? i
I do not want to replace whole trackpad.

    Thanks in advance.

While we have not studied the track pad design...this flash memory component will contain some firmware code.

This code is the local operating system for the embedded stand alone track pad design. As you use the track pad, the track pad module streams out the x,y coordinates of your touch actions to the main logic board.

Best to source another working track pad but you may get lucky to clone the chip but will need some work.

The trackpads get damaged easily due liquid spills, etc.

Believe the trackpads are about $30.

Thanks i will do... but in the meantime remember this left me with no keyboard too and the problem is that it can work perfect with external usb genius mouse and keyboard kit but it is Extremally slow! I know this happens when no keyboard is not connected because no thermal feedback is sent back ( i think).. but in my case how can i bypass this to have full speed ?? maybe resistor R5290 and R5291 ? ( the cpu is normal and cool for sure).. thanks

[Macbook pro A1708] [Boot loop] [Trackpad ?]
            by No Lan
            Hey everyone,

Usually, I'm not the type to ask for help, but this time, I'm calling on your wisdom and expertise I've seen what this community can do, so I'm pretty sure you guys can help me out.

Here's the deal: I noticed my MacBook got stuck in a boot loop. After opening it up and doing some initial troubleshooting, I found that the boot loop stops only when the trackpad is unplugged.

Now, just so you know, the trackpad actually works — I tested it with another motherboard and it's all good. Same for the cable, no issues there. The problem is only...

Apple Macbook Air M1 A2337 Trackpad problem
            by Skrndelj
            Hello all,

            I am repairing a Macbook A2337 and i have a problem
The Macbook is stuck in restore as someone before me tried a DFU restore and bricked the device, now i can't do a restore as AC2 throws error 1 which is related to the trackpad.
When i turn on the device i get the trackpad click for a few moments and then nothing, i tried 7 trackpads and 7 trackpad flats, i know all 7 are functioning okay, especially one as i use it for testing and DFU restore.
I inspected the whole board and everything seems fine.
Can anyone help me as i didn't fiddle with trackpad...

Macbook AIr a1466 Trackpad jittery/nonresponsive in macos, but not in recovery mode.
            by redbaron1007
I've got a MacBook Air A1466 that had liquid damage that I got working entirely except for the trackpad. The track pad is jittery or outright unresponsive when it is in macos, but works perfectly fine in recovery mode. The keyboard works and there are no issues with any of the keys not pressing. I have also replaced the track pad with 2 known good track pads and still am having issues with it.

I can't find anything wrong on the board with any of the IC's that would be in circuit with the track pad and am assuming it's some sort of os issue, but I don't know how macOS actually works...

MacBook Air M2 A2681 no Trackpad
            by rynr
            Hello,
I have been following the posts in the forum for some time now and have learned a lot. I would first like to thank you for this and hope that it will continue for a long time.

I received the MacBook in DFU. The recovery always failed with error 1. After some search, I was able to find a defective inductor (LT202).
After replacing the component, I was able to successfully complete the DFU restore. Unfortunately, the trackpad and keyboard where still without function.

So i measured all voltages and diodereadings on the JT400 connector. ...

Macbook Air A1466 820-3437-B Booting Problem
            by psdavid65
I received a 2013 Macbook Air A1466 820-3437-B motherboard with serial number C02L6GQ9FSV8 that came in WITHOUT a bios chip. I got a new bios chip and reprogrammed it. Macbook now powers on but doesn't boot the SSD. I've flashed a ton of bios but still same problem. Windows installation works with this Macbook but never a mac installation. Unfortunately, since I didn't receive this macbook with a bios chip, I don't have the original bios. What can I do now?...
