HP 250 g4 Trips Off While booting the OS

Hi,

I have this HP 250 g4 (LA-C701p) that Trips Off when it starts to boot the OS. When the HDD isn't connected or no OS on it, it won't trip off.

It doesn't get abnormally hot also

Please I need help on this. Thanks

blue screen if only brief ? if so try get a pic of it

did u try new system installation? i have some with damaged windows that do the same

Replace cap PCZ42 with 330uf and check again.

No blue screen at all. Just straight OFF, like cutting off Power completely

Tried with different Windows Installation. Same problem

Replace cap PCZ42 with 330uf and check again.

Amazing....... Worked perfectly.

So, I don't know AND I WANT TO KNOW the PHYSICS behind that. Because, 220uf is what was there by default and did work for some time. So why now, the need for the upgrade?

Also, can this be done to other makes/models having similar/same issues?

@classiccandy, I faced this issue on a diecrete LA-C701P motherboard and was thinking it was bad graphics chip. I converted the mb to UMA but still same fault persisted. However, in my case it boots to windows and runs perfectly for 3-5 mins. After doing a lot many things, i changed this cap to 330uf as a last try and it worked. So it came out of hard experience. I wasted almost 4 hours to learn this.

After long usage, capacitance of any cap goes down and hence, the need for upgrade.

That was one really hard experience. Hence, a capacitance meter is really helpful in these situations. I have fixed a laptop that was tripping off immediately you turn it on as a result of a missing Cap. After replacing it, It worked well afterwards.

I don't have an ESR Capacitance meter and I need to lay my hands on One ASAP.

Just remove the 2 graphic coil to convert it to UMA.
