Re: Macbook pro A1706 2017
Are you powered off battery or external adapter during these tests?
Is the adapter original?
What is the power adapter rating?
Is the one hour exactly one hour or an estimate?
Check if the logic board is extremely hot at the end of this use? Perhaps overheating and shutting down due to lack of proper heat dissipation / ventilation. -

estimated about 1 hour it shuts off and sometimes cannot turn on quickly many times to press power button to turn onComment

Re: Macbook pro A1706 2017
Try the PRAM reset. See attached. Hold these keys down while powering up and wait for 2 chimes. See if this helps.
Are the fans running? Exhaust air is hot?
Perhaps the cpu needs some fresh heatsink compound.
Unit clean or is dusty?
Could be perhaps a capacitor that is starting to fail.Comment

Review this webpage and confirm this is not a timer or scheduled shutdown:

by Ryan.manHello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!
My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.
This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen... -
by TennenHeya, so recently a MacBook Pro 2017 A1706 820-00923 reached my table, showing no signs of life at all. I am trying to use it as an opportunity to get more into the details of fixing Apple products. What I did so far might not have been ideal, but I am trying to improve.
The story I got told:
The MacBook received a new battery at some point and later at a random point in time just stopped working. Some specialist shop tried to diagnose the issue but only tried another battery - concluded mainboard damage and returned it to the customer.
What I did and learned... -
by soflesHello there
I have problem with Macbook Pro 15" 2017, model 2017, MB code 820-00928.
I bought it as broken with some artefacts on the screen, first I thought that this is problem with ribbon cable but after inspectiing ribbon cable I know it is fine. I tried to reinstall macOs and then I figured out that this must be something with GPU as installation freezes at the end (when drivers are loaded). I installed Windows and was able to install every each of drivers except GPU driver, as soon as I tried to install GPU driver - black screen and restart.

by kurtspiritHello,
I have a Macbook Pro 2017 Touchbar (A1706) that suddenly shut down for no reason.
So I took it apart and started measuring.
The PP3V3_G3H seems problematic. I traced the line to component U6903 and on Pin 10, I measured 1.9V instead of 3.3V.
Unfortunately, my skills stop there and I don't understand where this type of failure can come from.
I saw on videos of repairers that the failure could come from the U7000 component which would be at the origin of the 3.3V but they have absolutely no voltage. I have a 1.9v...

by afarrHi all, this is my first post, I offered to check out a friends MacBook Pro, A1706 which doesn't power on, before this happened they smelt something burning inside, and Apple refused to help with out being out of warranty.
Among investigating a capacitor on the logic board spilt and scorched surrounding area please refer to images; https://imgur.com/a/AmSwFr3
I found a schematic (x362 MLB Schematic) for the logic board on a thread from this site, I'm unsure about the right terminology when describing so please forgive me.
