Tried to replace the screen on my T450 and now have no backlight

Hello everyone, I've owned the T450 for a while now, absolutely love the keyboard on it. I finally decided to upgrade the terrible 900p TN panel to a 1080p IPS one (LP140WF3-SPD1) so that I can use it as my primary. Got the panel yesterday and in all the excitement forgot to disconnect the battery before actually removing the edp connector and replacing the screen. After a bit of research, I believe the fuse that limits the power to the screen is blown (F7?). Around the internet, I have seen many people who had a similar issue, which they managed to fix by either replacing the fuse or by just soldering short the fuse, but I didn't find a single photo of the fuse in question (F7?).

Now I am posting this just to confirm my views on the issue, before I actually open the whole laptop up and screw something else up. Am I missing something or should I go ahead and solder the thing?

Yup, just solder it, no problem. Most other manufacturers have nothing between main power and LCD connector anyway.

Better have the fuse blow than have the PCB or the LCD connector turn into smoke or flames when something goes wrong.

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
            by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

RedmiBook 15 pro 2023 Ryzen - after replace LCD screen work only in windows
            by benek123
I replaced the screen and LCD ribbon in Redmi Book 15 Pro Ryzen 2023. After replacing, the image on the screen is only visible in Windows 11 - when the AMD drivers are loaded.

The screen is backlit but there is no image in: bios, post, when loading windows, in linux (ubuntu boot from usb), windows 10 PE.
When I disconnect the EDP connector from the board and connect the HDMI cable, the image is visible everywhere good, in the BIOS you can see 2/3 of the image, i.e. 1920 pixels out of 3000 pixels.
I checked the EDID with the old screen - it is identical.

            What...

            Lenovo Thinkpad E15 Gen 2 NM-D011 - No display ? External , yes!
            by Acnologia
Here is a pretty crazy one.

            Step 1.
Laptop was brought to me as dead not working. Removed everything , cleared everything.
            Step 2.

Some liquid damage close to the Type - C connector, and the connector even though it was cleaned wasn't charging the battery . Removed the Type-C port, and replaced it. Now the laptop turns on and charges battery. Shows external screen , not internal.
            Step 3.

Took out the screen and checked it to a secondary Gen 2 i have, screen works like a charm.
            Step 4.

Lets ,dive into the board. I see the edp cable on the...

iphone XS turns off when press on screen.
            by smic717394
            Hi,

I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on...

            ASUS X54H laptop no backlight
            by flat-earther
Once upon a time I was casually browsing the World Wide Web with my ASUS X54H laptop which was sitting on my desk, when suddenly the screen turned black!
After several seconds, the screen turned on again! And so I continued to use my laptop as usual.

Some time later, the screen went black again! And it hasn't lit up since.
So here I am on a journey to repair it.

Not being an expert on how to repair, what I have done is searched the internet for help on a laptop screen not working, and I have checked some things.
I found out that with a flashlight...
