Hello everyone. I have two Winbond chip: 25Q64JVIQ and 25Q128JVPQ. Please tell me, how can I read them? Is any adapter for programmer? I have programmer TL866CS with SOP8 socket, but I'm afraid it is not compatible. Photo of chip in attachment. Thank you.

The chips are WSON8 ,you would need an adapter if you desoldered them. You can also get WSON8 and sop8 pogo pin clips. You can solder wires to the empty sop8 pads as well. The 2 bios chips aren`t supported by the TL866CS ,the latest TL866II does. The only way around it, if its the only progrmmer you own,is to find a cross compatible bios chip from another maker and check if its in the TL866CS support list, then program it as that.

by STKR123Greetings badcaps community,
I havent done this for a long time and want to start it all again, after some evil and annyoing illness.
So I apologize in advance, if some phrases might sound a bit like gibberish or illogical to you.
Im trying my best to fully describe what I plan to achieve and hope I was choosing the right sub-forum for my new adventure.
I have a Elitebook 820 G1 and a Elitebook 840 G2 here.
These ask for a password when entering the BIOS, but boot just fine from the internal SSD.

My pc updated bios through Windows Update and I was greeted with BLACK SCREEN WITH CPU FAN MAX SPEED. I don't think there is even a screen signal, because it triggers my monitor for a couple seconds and then the monitor turns off. I tried the other outputs as well.
- I tried clearing bios, resetting bios, removed the CMOS battery, removed m.2 ssd, wifi, and ram. Still black screen with CPU fan blasting.
- I tried using the Lenovo BIOS CD and BIOS USB, but neither worked. At least I couldn't get anything to work.
- I could only locate two chips that look like bios chips. Could someone verify this

by what_1282105Following this guide (https://www.reddit.com/r/thinkpad/co...g_and_flashing) i re-flashed my t480s BIOS using an external (CH341A) programmer. The flash didnt work, so i reverted back to my BIOS backup successfully. The BIOS in the chip and the BIOS backup file are identical according to windows' file compare. The revert, however, didnt work: the only thing the computer does is flash the power button 3 times when AC power is connected. I've tried unplugging the CMOS battery, holding the reset button and holding down the power button- no signs of life....
