ASUS ROG GX531GW Motherboard troubleshooting .

    Hello,

I own a ROG GX531GW. It was fine until about 3 weeks ago. But one random day it decided to shutdown while I was using it and then it suddenly stopped working. There was no power to the board. No power LED or anything. The board was in all essence bricked. So I took it to a board-level repair place and they replaced some stuff on the board. The laptop posted afterward. However, the keyboard, the USB ports, Networking and the HDMI port did not work. We tried to find a fix on the internet and a guy suggested I flash a bios firmware since it could be a BIOS/EC issue. I flashed an older BIOS and then the USB ports started working. More specifically, I could not use any USB port. But as the guy suggested, the USB 2.0 ports worked from the BIOS in ASUS EZ Flash. Now, I do not how to proceed further and any input will be appreciated. I can also provide any pictures of the motherboard if necessary.

Also I could not find a Board view schematic for my latop so I could not get any information on the hardware level .

It still may be a bios issue. Post your original bios backup in BIOS SECTION. We'll try to fix it.

I do not have a copy of the BIOS. It randomly shut off one day and I gave it to a local service center. And then I was coordinating with someone from the Louis Rossmann discord group and he suggested flashing older versions of my BIOS. I can send the version of the BIOS that I currently have installed but that's just the version from the official ASUS website.

Still I'll dump my BIOS and post it here.

Also, is there any chance that it could be a EC or a PCH issue ?

Alright. I used RWeverything to dump information from my laptop. I don't know what to make of it though. I noticed today that my laptop does not recognize my dedicated GPU either. It is running off integrated graphics as of right now . So I can't conclude if my HDMI port is also not working or it's functioning and my GPU is not outputting anything to it.

        I've attached the BIOS dump.

Please read post #2 again. "Post your original bios backup in BIOS SECTION. We'll try to fix it."

You need an SPI bios programmer to make a full bios backup,no software method will work.

Asus ROG Strix Scar G533qm with a G733qm Motherboard, can I modify the Bios to accept G533 Bios
              by glovecaps
              Hello,

I have a Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 (G533QM) that had a dead motherboard (Graphics card dead) and after trying to fix the motherboard with no success, I bit the bullet on a sale for a new motherboard. I ordered a motherboard for the 15 inch model which is the one that I have, and when the motherboard arrived it wasn't for a little while that I saw it was from the 17 inch model.

My question is, can I update the Bios on this G733 motherboard to a G533 Bios.

The reason for wanting to do this is that the keyboard isn't working as it should, and I think this...

Asus ROG Ally X -RC72LA - changed hidden bios settings with 'Smokeless-UMAF', won't get past boot logo

ASUS ROG Ally X - (Handheld Gaming PC)
              Model No: RC72LA
              Serial No: SBNVKD001014459

Hi all, I've spent the past week digging through the forums and guides to try correct my foolish mistake of changing hidden settings while tinkering around, and to be honest my heads overloaded so I'm hoping you'll be able to help.

I used a tool called 'Smokeless-UMAF' to access usually hidden settings in the bios. I tweaked one or two 'safe' things but made the mistake of tweaking a lot of settings under 'USB/Thunderbolt Configurations' when I didn't know what they did. For...

ASUS ex-b250-V7 motherboard bios corrupted - by me
              by oragano
hey all, i did a silly thing and flashed bios to perfectly working board. None of the asus official download bios would work with ez flash. They all gave error saying not supported bios file. I tried using uefi tool to extract it to a bin file but then ez flash wouldnt even recognise it.
So, i used freedos and afudos with the aforementioned bin file i extracted and forced the issue. After bios reprogram, reboot and it was dead. Fans spinning but no post.
i have a bios writer and none of the .cap files from the official site work either. I just get one spin, then off, then all fans...

              Hi there,
I have an Asus G713QY that won't boot. The machine fire up to a black screen, no post but everything seems to check out on the board. I believe the motherboard needs the bios reloaded but I can't find the bios file. I've looked on the Asus website but what is available for download is the .exe to run in windows (which won't help). I've tried to unzip it but can't see the bios file that I need. Can anyone share the bios file for an Asus ROG G713QY-K4005T (SN: MANRKD03332840C), motherboard ref: G713-6050A3254002-MB-A01 (A1). Thanks

ASUS TUF X570-PLUS doesn't power on: no VRM_EN signal.
              by ShadowAi
Hello, I have an issue with the motherboard. Specifically, it doesn't power on, more precisely, the POST initialization doesn't occur.

Let me start from the beginning, the motherboard suddenly stopped working one day. There are no beep signals from the speaker, and the debug LEDs are not lighting up. After inspecting it under a microscope and using thermal imaging, I didn't find anything that could be damaged.

After that, I began voltage measurements, in which I noticed the absence of VDDQ, VDDP, VTT, and VPP lines. Later, I checked if there is an EN state on these lines,...
