I am looking at an old A1278 820-2530 just for practise, and I have checked resistance to GND on PP3V42_GSH at pin 2 of L6995 with coil fitted and it's 3.81K. Is this reading likely to mean a bad MCP, seeing as I have been told by a reliable source that on an 820-2879 (I realise that it's a different board but of similar vintage and general design?) a resistance to GND reading of PP3V42_G3H more than likely means a bad MCP and not to waste my time trying to go any further. It has green light on and fan spin on shorting SMC_ONOFF_L to GND and RTC_32K_XTALOUT_R is 32.76kHz. PM_PWRBTN_L pulsing on start up (3.4v -0 - 3.4v) U1000/1400 both getting warm. Thanks if anyone can offer an opinion please

Re: Does low RTG reading mean bad MCP
That's a good indication that it's not worth wasting time on it. It has to be measured with the board cold and all power drained from it. You can still try to go further if you have hope…
So what's the issue with it?OpenBoardView — https://github.com/OpenBoardView/OpenBoardView -

by SuperAmanI did an hdmi port repair for a PS5 and I lost the small diode z71 SOD923 on the back of the port. I did a trace repair for pin 19 of the port as well. Without the diode I get no display at all. I tried replacing the diode twice but after I get flux on it the marking comes off so I can't tell if I have it on the right orientation. When I measure I get a reading of 1(open) and 923 in diode mode. Is 923 a normal reading for these and also which side should the reading be with regards to the arrow on the board?...

by Fuzzy FixHowdy all I have a 90uF Capacitor 200/275 VRMS and measured the ESR . Reading says 00.3 Ohms and about 1/2 a second later 00,0 and says low ESR (Really No Kidding).
I have checked it on the multimeter and reading is 94.7uF well within soec as ir has a 25% tolerance on it.
Can anyone advise me is this capacitor likely to fail in the near future or still good to use.1 Photo-

by ThoaHello Community...
I am totaly disappointed, cause i bought a used Dell Latitude 5440 with a cracked display. I ve spend another 50 Euros for the new screen and it does his job very well. Then I reallized that a Bios-Passwort is set. First I bought the CH341A black edition with the clamp and was confidence, that it will do its job, realizing that this does not work. So I decided to buy a pogo-pin-tool to read the UC2 first of all (nothing tried on UC6 Yet). The outcome was very random when reading the WSON 8x6, so I decided to buy the XGecu T48, but it is the same. No reliable data.... -
by camisaoHello there,
I have a issue with a tower UPS 3000XL with also an external battery tower that has almost new batteries and very little use.
A week ago it started entering boost mode because the read line voltage was below 210VAC, when it was in fact near 225 VAC.
The battery voltage was also low (48 or 49), when in fact the batteries are fully charged to 55.1 VDC.
I opened it up up, cleaned and tried a reset.
I updated lower transfer voltage to 196 with apctest and then used the serial port to adjust the configuration with a terminal in Prog mode... - Loading...
