ch341 and 25q16fw

Hi everyone

i am trying to read this chip which is in wson8 shape

i am using the ch341 programmer with a 1.8v adapter and on top

a wson8 adapter, the following link shows the adapter

the chip is recognized but reads a blank bios.

I have tried using another 1.8v adapter, another wson8 adapter in case of

them is faulty but the result is the same. I also tried different vesions of the

software like v1.13, v1.18, v1.29 and v1.34. It is detected as w25q16dw or

bv depending on the versions which is 16mbit and 1.8v just like the fw

Does anyone have a clue what is wrong or has successfully read this chip?

The chip comes from a lenovo X1 tablet

Are you sure that the chip is still good ?I don't know this X1 tablet nor do I have experience with it.
What has the CH341 done in the past or is this the first time that you use it ?

Can you post a picture of the setup of the CH341 and the adapter ?You ahve soldered the chip on the adapter ?

In my case yes, I successfully read and write the chip with the same AsProgrammer which was not readable with the original program in any way, I think the chip was Micronix MX25L12873F as far as I can remember.

i have used the ch341 for 1.8v chips , never had an issue to be honest,

the chip was soldered on the adapter

It works then do you need special tool for working with the tool. Special program?
